Hello All,

I am looking to purchase the Pochette Metis. I would be using it as my everyday bag. I am confused between the Classic Monogram and Empreinte. I would’ve just gotten the Monogram but I am reading a lot of negative reviews on the canvas cracking and glazing issues.
Also, within the Empreinte leather, I love the Navy/Red combination but I feel it may not go with all outfits on a day to day basis. The Black is nice and would be super versatile as an everyday bag, but I feel its a little boring.

Needed Advice -
1) Anyone who has bought the Metis in Monogram last year or so, have you had any issues or has LV really fixed the glazing and cracking off late as I was told ?
2) Do you think the Navy/ Red is a bag that would match and go with everyday casual outfits ( in terms if versatility and matching outfits )
3) Should I just play it safe and get the Black Empreinte?
Any other recommendations?

Hi there! So I actually have all three of these all purchased in 2021, but have to say I've yet to use the classic monogram one so I can't comment on the cracking. But I've used the marine rouge (navy/red) and black empriente almost exclusively since like April alternating every few weeks and have had no issues at all! I like the navy for matching more casual outfits, and use the black for more dressy but also with athleisure outfits since I wear alot of dark color leggings. To get past the "boring black bag" with the noir empreinte, I added a bandeau to the handle and that definitely helps to jazz it up a bit! Hope this helps :)

Hi there! :wave:I’ve had PM in mono since 2.5 years. I have used her a lot, however not on a regular basis, but rather as a weekend / dinner / vacation bag. My PM has not cracking so far. As far as I know and based on the experiences of some TPF friends @beautycase, the potential cracking issues under the flap can also happen to empreinte Métis, it’s not limited to the canvas one (as wear & tear due to bag construction). I really love the look of the mono PM, it’s more my vibe than the black empreinte (even though I find it very beautiful when I see it in store or on others). Mono is also slightly less heavy than the empreinte one.
So here are my answers to your questions:
1) No issues.
2) No. I do find the navy/rouge one more difficult to combine with outfits as the canvas or black ones.
3) Depending on what you like, I would go for mono or black empreinte. Alternatively you can also consider the reverse one (still on my WL).

I am probably just going to confuse you even further, but I love the look of monogram but do not want the vachetta nor do I was the reverse (seems it’s just too busy for me), so I am thinking I may order the My World Tour and just put the 1 required sticker on the back, voila, monogram canvas without worrying about vachetta!
I’m surprised I’m not seeing more of them (other than the outrageous price!!).

That is so insightful!Thank you so much :) I am currently trying to pick between the navy and monogram. I wear lot of black leggings and jeans so am thinking navy might be a good idea.

Ahhh!! Look at that lovely Monogram Metis. Your pictures are totally making me want to pick the monogram!! Gorgeous . Also, thanks for sharing that Empreinte can have cracking and glazing issues too. I thought those were just the canvas issues. Love your PM. Enjoy your gorgeous bag!

I have the monogram and no trouble so far although I’ve only owned it for a short time. I was always drawn to the noir empreinte and it was only recently, when someone said she felt like a “granny” when she carried it and never uses it now, that it really put me off! I can’t get it out my head of it looking like an old lady’s bag now, even though I don’t actually think it does. So I got the mono and absolutely love it. I love the black leather on the reverse but I don’t like the mix-and-match logo layout.

I know what you mean. One of my friends said to me that the Black one is just plain meh and boring ( besides, most of my bags are Black ). However I feel the Black one is a Classic always. one can never go wrong with Black.
