Hi all, I’m debating getting a Panther ring, but not sure which one. I’m looking at these two models: the plain one and the more elaborate one where the Panther is eating a door knocker. I’d like to use it more for regular everyday wear, but I’d wear it 2-3x a week, not everyday. It wouldn’t be for fancy occasions only.

I like both but I wonder if the more elaborate one is too fussy for everyday. I am also aware of the massive price difference, but for me if I got the cheaper one I’d use the money to get another item on the wishlist. Does anyone have one or both and can comment about them in terms of wearability, functionality, wear and tear? Thanks!

I tried on the simpler one recently and liked the look of it. Then, I tried the pave version where the panther's head has some diamonds, and I liked that even more!

For me, the style of the simpler or pave one was more comfortable for me to wear than the door knocker one. Being an open ring with a lower profile felt good for something you say you will wear fairly often.

I haven't picked it up yet but likely will at some point. Have you compared to see if both styles are equally comfortable for you?

I have the small one and the bigger one with spots. I always reach for the small one for everyday wear. I feel the bigger one is too much for daily activities - but it may depend on what you’re comfortable with. It’s perfect for special occasions though.
I feel like they’re both beautiful, so you can’t really go wrong.

I like the spotted panther. The head is more distinct, the eyes are more striking. I like the contrast. I would prefer if the spots were a bit more irregular instead of being so symmetrical.

The plain panther ring is fine, but I feel that the “tail” looks random and the design is less cohesive. Like, it’s a head that morphs into a neck? I dislike the blunted end. And the gap doesn’t feel like it adds anything, though I suppose it makes the head a bit clearer. Overall, the silhouette of the plain ring is not as striking or interesting to me. The visual attention is drawn to the panther looking at its tail, which doesn’t add anything to the ring design.

With the bigger head, I like how the end of the ring is actually attached to the mouth of the cat. It makes the design more intentional and complete. It’s still not my favorite panther ring, but I prefer that design more.

so I have the bangle version of the above and I actually wish I bought a different version bc the details of the head aren’t seen as well unless you intentionally look close. I would opt for the second ring or a different panthere right. There’s a plain thicker ring with spots that I’ve been eyeing, maybe that’ll be a good compromise between the two!

Both cool but 2 different looks. Have you had the opportunity to try them on? Would love to see how each one looks on you.
Yes, I’ve tried them on. Here are some pics:

Yes I found both to be pretty comfortable. I also love the pave one but the price is a bit high.

If you're wanting something for more regular wear, definitely go for the more simple one. I think the more decorative one looks like more of a dress ring for events.
This is what I’m afraid of. I want to be able to wear it enough to justify the price.

Thanks for your opinion! I also like how detailed it is but I worry it’s too fancy for everyday wear.

I tried it on too but I found it too big for my finger. Do you wear your bangle often?

I personally prefer the door knocker one as a ring, I just don’t like the plain one. I think you can wear the door knocker one casually if you wanted, yes it’s a bolder ring but it’s not so bold that it can only be worn to dress up. I actually find it kind of edgy and that makes it something that can be worn regularly imo.

I’ve attached a photo of my Panthere family 😊 (never mind the weird pose - was the only photo I could find at the moment where I’m wearing both)

I haven’t used the spotted one a lot yet - I’ve only had it for a year and a half. I was worried about wear and tear of the spots, but so far they’re holding up very nicely.
The small one I have used more and for daily wear. It’s holding up fine, but of course it’s 18k gold so it does get scratches.

I actually bought the spotted/door knocker one last year but ended up returning it. I loved it but realized after I got home that because of how the weight is distributed on it, it would fall to one side a lot rather than just sit firmly on top of my finger. I guess the solution to that would have been to go down half a size, which I didn’t want to do. I usually wear an eternity band so it can turn around completely and I wouldn’t even know. This may not been an issue for you, but just wanted to share my experience.

As for the actual ring, I really love it and sometimes wonder if I should consider it once again. I have a SUPER casual lifestyle (think leggings and sneakers) as I’m a mom with 3, soon to be 4 kids. I think you can absolutely wear that ring casually. When compared to your other option, I actually find that one a bit plain and from a distance you can’t really tell it’s a panthere. As long as the fit isn’t an issue for you and you love it, that would a definitely be my choice over the other!

I think everyone has fantastic opinions and it would boil down to your style and lifestyle. I own the pave thin version of the plain slim one, and also considered the wg pave version of the door knocker. Personally I think the door knocker is a statement ring and is more of a cocktail ring, but you can definitely wear it with leggings and a T shirt if you have an edgy style. I went with the pave slim version because I have short fingers and can’t wear anything too thick. I also think the small thin panthere is very comfortable (it’s smooth on the inside), which helps the wearability. Some people argue you can’t see the head, but I can and I think it’s adorable when it peeks out at me from the side. It really all comes down to what you’re attracted to aesthetically and comfort. I love my pave one and would also get the plain one if I had the funds. I have an edgy style but too many statement rings would make me lazy to wear as sometimes my style is also quite relaxed. Based on your fingers, I do like the plain the most on you.
