Please help me decide between these two...does anyone know what the leather is like on the black one?

I’m more partial to the gucci horsebit 1955 bc it’s leather. But, I guess you should consider your existing collection and your style preference.
Yes so do I...I also really like the Ophidia but slightly unsure on the round shape...I just want an everyday bag...didn't know what the leather was like on the black one...it seems like its embossed?

It is. Even my Horse-bit Chain shoulder and clutch bags from the '00s had the same pressed leather. The good news is it makes it very resilient against dirt and scratches.
I don't know if you're still deciding, but I just love the understated-ness of the black + horse bit.
I have a different Gucci bag that uses the same leather (different color). It's very reminiscent of LV's Taiga Leather, except the embossing of the crosshatching on my bag isn't extremely pronounced. It's very durable against the elements like light scuffing etc.
