I am trying to downsize my handbag collection, and having the hardest time deciding what to let go between the following:
- Damier Ebene Bloomsbury PM - Practical and the big, easy-access front pocket is a big convenience for me. I like the overall look with the pleating detail and the red interior. Cons: The shoulder strap is rather stiff and can get uncomfortable after extended wear. Plus, idk why but lately the tapered shape at the top of the bag is bugging me.
- Favorite MM in Damier Ebene - I really like the aesthetic and details with this bag, including the pleated detail on the sides, the red interior, and the two straps. Multiple possibilities: shoulder-wear, crossbody, and elegant short strap wear with the delicate gold chain. The only thing I don't like is the relatively weak magnetic flap closure and therefore lack of security.
- Pochette Accessories in monogram - I like this for its versatility wearing as a short shoulder bag (cute), and switching out the strap with my long mono strap or Felicie gold chain for long shoulder and crossbody wear. I know this is a hard-to-get piece. Cons for me: vachetta leather, and, monogram (I am not a monogram gal, but when the opportunity arose to buy this, I FOMO-bought it.)
Cons with all of the above except for the P.A.: when I wear the Bloomsbury or the Favorite, I inevitably end up crossing paths with someone wearing the same bag. I just have never really wanted to look like everyone else: that's just me.
Everytime I think I've made my decision on what to let go, something happens. I thought I had decided to let the Favorite go, then the other day I saw someone wearing it and it looked so cute with the gold short strap. Another time I was leaning toward the P.A., but then I saw a celeb wearing it and I paused. I also thought I made my mind to get rid of the Bloomsbury, but when I see what else is out there close in size, it's either missing the front pocket, or it's monogram, or it's just not as feminine in detailing.
It doesn't help that these bags are discontinued and/or difficult to get. (Sidenote: I wonder if LV will follow their recent pattern of releasing new versions of older model bags. In other words, wonder if they will release a new Bloomsbury like they did the Odeon....)
