Which new Gucci bag to get?

Hello! I am planning on purchasing a new Gucci bag but can’t decide which to get. My only Gucci I own so far is the classic Dionysus beige/white canvas/leather. I was originally going to purchase the new Horsebit bag as I love the classic Horsebit. Then while browsing PF I have seen so many with the new Aphrodite! I would love to hear everyone’s thoughts regarding the two bags to help me decide! Thank you!

Both are beautiful! I prefer the Dionysus simply because it seems so versatile. Easy to dress it up or down. It’s also very “gucci” to me where the Aphrodite, while beautiful, looks like it fall into many designer’s catalogs..

Thank you! I do agree that classic Gucci style is what originally drew me to the bag. Such a classic beauty! The new gold chain strap also looks so luxurious and it has an added short leather shoulder strap. Decisions..Decisions.

I have both bags, they're both very different.

The 1955 is a classic shoulder bag (I have the original Med). Really easy to wear, usually quite formal, I think the G-print and leather trim makes it more everyday friendly. The chain makes it more ladylike (I prefer the leather strap) and adaptive for evening, however, if you have a Dionysus already, I think both bags may suit the same purpose.

The Aphrodite is a reissue of a classic 1970s bag (a modification of the Gucci Bouvier 1958) and not at all like any other brands' 'copies'. It's light, the goat-leather glistens, everyday-friendly and the Med is the perfect size for everyday. In off-white, it's extremely glamorous (now you make me want another ).

They are so different, I would go any try them both on. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either.

Thank you so much for your insight! That is a great point that my current Dionysus could serve the same purpose of the new Horsebit with chain. I also contemplated purchasing the mini Horsebit but I do always get drawn to bags with chains and I like the day to evening idea with the bag.

I did not realize the Aphrodite was a reissue of classic Gucci! The lambskin leather looks gorgeous and the price point is amazing compared to the Horsebit which is not all leather. I typically purchase smaller bags, so the Aphrodite would be different in my handbag collection and might be a welcome change to all my mini and smaller bags!

Thank you! I like the Aphrodite as an everyday bag and the Horsebit I could use daily with the added leather shoulder strap or also in the evening with chain. I don’t necessarily need a bag for day or night but wanted my next bag to be another Gucci. I was always planning to get a Horsebit but that new gorgeous Aphrodite made me rethink about purchasing the Horsebit at this time.
