I'm really stuck on which necklace to choose as an everyday necklace. I am looking for a piece that will work day to night, casual or smart. I want it to be a piece I can put on and forget about, as my other necklaces are quite delicate and need to be taken on and off.

I currently wear daily:

Cartier Love bracelet
Wedding set (e-ring, eternity ring & wedding band)
Cartier Love ring
Tag Heuer Aquaracer watch
Diamond huggie hoops or pearls

I'm trying to decide between the Metro heart necklace, Sentimental diamond heart pendant and the mini Victoria Pendant! I really love both and they would both work for my style. The motif on each necklace is under 1cm, so they're both quite dainty (which I like).

Would love to hear peoples thoughts below!

I think it's very much a personal preference sort of thing. Both are cute and whimsical, giving a more youthful look yet at the same time being classic and timeless.

Does the shape of the Victoria pendant or the heart shape have any meaning to you?

Personally I'm not a big fan of wearing certain shapes like hearts and stars so I would go for the Victoria 4 leaf motif.

Yes definitely a personal preference, I just can't decide lol.

I don't have any special feelings for either of the shapes, but it will be a gift from my husband, which is why I was leaning towards the heart, but I love the Victoria too! I usually don't like hearts, but I really like the diamonds in a small motif.

Thank you for your input!

My choice is the Mini Victoria!

Also, just a suggestion - if you like heart-shaped jewelry, I personally love the Harry Winston heart pendant - seen here in an editorial from when Sofia Coppola guest edited Vogue Paris, bottom left (perfect for everyday wear IMO!):

So reminiscent of Elizabeth Taylor in 'Cat On a Hot Tin Roof'...

Wow! Thank you so much for the suggestion.

I'll have a look at the HW one :flowers: it's beautiful!

I like hearts and heart jewelry, but I think for an everyday necklace, it will get boring fast. I don’t think you will get tired of the Victoria necklace as quickly. It’s more ageless and sophisticated than a heart necklace.

VICTORIA... not even a contest.

The Victoria or the HW actual heart

Thank you all for your input! I'm still undecided  I'm going to get rid of one of the hearts to narrow it down further.

Victoria has a more distinct design, and it’s four larger marquise diamonds. So the sparkles will be larger and more noticeable.

The metro heart is a bunch of micropave diamonds. Which don’t sparkle as much from a distance, and also get dirty quite easily.

The three-stone heart pendant is just three diamonds jammed into a heart setting. The shape is hard to make out when viewed from a distance, and I personally don’t like it when fancy shapes are “faked” like that.

My vote would be the Victoria. It’s a more classic and iconic design. If you really want a heart, I would say to go for either a single fancy-shape heart stone, like diamonds by the yard. Or I would go with the more classical diamond heart pendant, which has larger, prong-set diamonds in the outline of a heart.

My vote is for the first heart-shaped pendant (not the 3-diamond one) or the victoria. Aesthetically, I think a solitaire style would be gorgeous, but I worry that a solitaire would not have the durability to withstand constant wear, as this is your focus for this question.

That said, all options are beautiful and there are no wrong choices!

Judging from the age of this post however, I'm guessing you may have already picked something. If so, what did you choose?

Thanks!

Edit: Just looked at the pictures again and I'm not sure how I would like the open back of the Victoria and how that would look actually sitting on the body or against tops. Might be great, but I have a couple of necklaces like that and I find that I don't like the way they look like they are standing away from me a bit. I'm sure the design purpose is to allow more light through, thereby enhancing the sparkle, but I still seldom wear them. That's a totally personal issue though and most people probably wouldn't be as much of a weirdo as me - lol. If you haven't already picked one, have you tried them on in person?

There's one Tiffany pendant necklace you haven't mentioned, but might be something you would like. The Tiffany Smile collection has it in various sizes in yellow gold, which seems to be your favorite. It's also available with diamonds.

Please click on the links below. It is available in Large and Extra Large, with and without diamonds. I have this necklace in XL in white gold with diamonds and wear it most days. One especially nice feature is the ability to wear it at 16" or 18" long.
