Which mini should I get?

Hi everyone, Happy New Year! I am thinking of adding a Chanel mini to my collection, this would be my first mini and hoping to reach purse peace. I am undecided between the mini square, rectangular, or reissue in chevron if possible. What are your thoughts on those, pros, cons, and which one would you pick if you were me? What’s your thought on chevron stitching? For reference, I currently have a black caviar GST, a lambskin black and a caviar white Medium double flap CF, a gray caviar jumbo double flap CF, and a black lamb skin small chanel 19. If you are looking to branch out and diversify your collection, I think a mini chevron reissue would be great. I have an SO black one that can easilu be dressed up or down and worn crossbody. I find the leather and HW more durable than some other TPFers have suggested. Have fun looking for your next bag and ultimately buy what you fall in love with

I love the so black reissue but I’m so worried about the hardware!

Thank you for your advice! I was actually very intrigued seeing a so black mini reissue chevron on Youtube, it is beautiful but since I am too late to the game, it is sold out everywhere at this point and tbh, I am not very fond of paying a premium price to get it on site like Fashionphile.

@Schon729 i also heard the hardware can be an issue with so black but i also saw some having it and not baby the bag and the hardware remains in pretty good condition ...

Recently saw a mini chevron (might have been the classic and not reissue though) on the Photos of Chanel in Action thread, and man that is gorgeous! Also, since you already have the CF I think reissue may provide some diversity. I think the only thing about the square is the shorter width. I really like the proportion of the mini rectangle. I watched so many YouTube vids with mod shots to see which one I liked before pulling the trigger on the rectangle, and am so happy I chose rectangle.

They are all so gorgeous, so you can't go wrong!

Thank you! I was thinking of the same thing when adding mini reissue to the list because the classic flap mini are very similar to a CF. I haven’t tried a reissue on or seeing it in real life though, only in pictures or Youtube. I do like that it has 4 grommets and less restriction on the chain length. I have tried both the rectangular and square mini on. At first I thought I would prefer a rectangular mini, but when I saw the square mini, i had to say my heart slightly dropped a beat (just slightly) , something about the square mini, although small but it has a very unique shape and because of this, making it quite different from a CF. Now I am just so uncertain

I can wear both bags as shoulder and crossbody bags, so to me they are equally versatile. I find the square one less bulky and looking even cuter than the rectangular mini. I got my rectangular mini first because I didn’t own a classic flap and wanted a bag looking as similar to it if possible. But if you already have two classic flaps, I think the square shape would add more variety to your collection.
The chevron pattern looks gorgeous (and I may add it to a later point of time), but my first choice would be the classic diamond quilting - it’s so iconic and elegant.

Since it is almost impossible to try a square mini on at the boutique, long story short, I found one from FASHIONPHILE and it is in caviar, preloved, a little bit old with flaws (2010) but to my surprise opening the box today, the condition was a lot better than I thought. I got it for a pretty good price too but undecided whether I should keep it or to get a mini reissue instead. However, with the limited stock at this point and next price increase is upon us including the mini, I start to lose some hope. I attach a few pictures here of both me wearing the rectangular and the square, what do you think? Should I keep it or return? Sorry for the many questions.

Wow, the red color is just stunning! I think the square mini looks great on you! Caviar minis are such a rare find … and if you got it for a good price and you’re fine with the condition, why not keep it

Thank you This was the mini square that I mentioned above that made my heart dropped a little beat maybe because I kept my expectations very low considering how old the bag is, it turned out to be such a pleasant surprise. I got it for $3595 plus tax, although not too far off from current retail price but still a good price right? I think I can live with a little structure loss and some wears and tears

I would go for reissue chevron mini to diversify but consider square or rectangular mini in a pop of color. You can’t go wrong!!

Thank you for your advice! I was trying to look for a mini reissue but haven’t been successful. What do you think of the red above? Kind of glad it is not a bright red.

I have a purple chevron mini rectangle, I love it as it’s different to the usual quilt. I also have a square mini. Personally I like the rectangle as can fit a phone side ways. I have a pro max.
