Hi all, I’m looking for a lab grown TB to stack with my VCA bracelet and whatever else I might wear on that hand. I don’t want anything too large although I know the shrinkage effect is real! The specs on both bracelets are “excellent” cut, F/G color and VS+ clarity,14k gold and they’re both from Grown Brilliance.
1. Should I go for the one that’s round cut (3.25 tcw) or for the multi-shape style (4.5 tcw)?
2. Most of my gold jewelry is 18k gold. Should I go for a TB that’s also 18k gold or does it not really matter?
Thanks!
PS sorry for poor image quality.

Would the diamonds on a round TB chew up the vca bracelet? I know that's a concern with rings
Yeah it would but not sure if poster cares or our definition of chew up may not be theirs. I agree with you tho. It would be chewed up by my standards, and scratches on the stone. But everyone has a different threshold.
That’s why I rarely wear my TB with any VCA. Oh well.

I definitely have some concerns about the diamonds scratching and chewing my VCA. Do you think this would be a concern with diamonds of different shapes? Or, is the issue the setting? I’m also hoping to get a hammered YG bracelet at some point so would the scratching be less of a concern with an all metal style?
Thanks.

Metal on metal will always scratch. The hammered motifs will just show it less and it will be harder to notice on a hammered motif. Prongs and the diamonds themselves will scratch whatever it gets in contact with. That’s just how hard diamonds are. The shape of the diamond doesn’t matter that much. Though theoretically maybe an emerald cut will Scratch less because it has fewer exposed angles than a MRB. But it’s ok not to care. Plenty of people stack and don’t worry and enjoy their pieces.

I think @EpiFanatic is right, it depends on your style. Some people stack bracelets, watches, etc. and don’t care if things get scratched and just look awesome doing it. It’s their style. To each their own.

Firstly, I love TE and I think photos do not do it justice. It is so beautiful. However, I have to say that the TE bracelet is not one I think to stack with a WG TB. I think you’re better off stacking it with the YG hammered, or a YG bracelet, but not diamonds. I think something else with lots of YG would complement it much more than a diamond TB. Sorry not helping to choose between your choices, but I’d save the money, and buy something else.

TE is pretty hard to resist. When you see it IRL, it’s mesmerizing. It shimmers and shifts and you don’t get bored of it. If I had TE five motif I would get a hammered YG or RG to stack with it, to emphasize the TE and to add depth and texture to the stack. That’s just me. And that would scratch but not as badly as the sharp edges and angles of a diamond on the TE. That kind of scratching would bother me the most, diamond on stone. But I sacrifice the look. @missie1 wears her TBs with her five motifs and they look FABULOUS. So effortlessly easy, blingy and gorgeous. So definitely do what works for you.

As a small aside, both TB are shown in YG. However, I have definitely taken to heart all of your comments about the scratching and what might be better options for stacking. I think I’m going to focus on getting the hammered 5-motif next.
I appreciate this community so much. I’m a big lurker, but never post so I appreciate the feedback!

If you’re worried about scratching then I would recommend getting adjusted to fit snug to minimize the movement and prevent overlap.
