Hi

I am having a hard time deciding between the two in black with gold.

I like the shape of the hillier better, and the fact that is closes better is also a plus.

I would like to add a Tory Burch to my collection, and I like the strap options on this one a bit better. I like the logo a bit better also...the way its designed that is. I will be getting this one in black also.

What do you think ladies?? I know this is an TB thread, but maybe you have both or had a bad experience with the Amanda?

I haven't seen it in person, but the top seems pretty secure against pick pocketing, I'd think. If you're really worried, try going with a zippered bag. They make me feel most secure. :flowers:

I like them both. I only have the Amanda in red so I cannot speak about the functionality of the Hillier. I like the crossbody strap and outer pocket of the Amanda. Can the Hillier be worn crossbody?

I also have the Amanda in red and it is a great bag. I wear it with and without the long strap. It can also hold a lot and is very sturdy. It can be on the heavy side at times but may also be due to what I carry. I've received a few compliments on the bag also and would recommend it.

I am petite so, yes the hillier can be worn crossbody. Some feel it hits a little high but due to the length of the bag, I think it's perfect.

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts about the Amanda. I am having such a hard time deciding. Have you had any concerns about theft? It seems like the bag is pretty open... That's for you help!

Thank you! Ugh, such a hard decision! Do you feel like the bag is secure? It seems pretty open so I was just curious...thank you!!!

Well there is a snap so it does close the bag somewhat in the middle. Not as secure as a zip closure, but it seems half of the bags I'm interested in do not have outer zippers. I carry a Michael Kors wristlet that I secure to the hardware on the side and can zip up my phone in the inner pocket zipper if I'm really concerned. But if you wear it messenger style in the front, it's close to your body, so you would probably feel or see if someone is trying to pickpocket you. Or maybe not, since thieves are so quick these days.

I saw another style in the Tory Burch section in bloomingdales called Edye hobo that is also a hobo but with a smaller logo. The Edye hobo has a flap closure that might be more secure. Also comes with a crossbody strap. My daughter said she likes the Amanda better.

regarding to your question about the Amanda Hobo...
For me, no problem about the side of the bag concerning about the pick pocketing issue:cool:...but if you're really worry about that thing I suggest you to use a wrislet wallet just like what I'm using now which you can attached to the inside ring of the bag..or else, if you're planning to go in a crowded places....HUG Amanda tightly!:p

Marc by Marc Jacob will be my vote! Very durable and the shape is better in my opinion. don't get me wrong, im a fan of TB as well but I don't really find this particular shape attracts me. It reminds me of Coach. If u want to fulfill your brand collection, u can consider other handbag of TB. They have a lot of new style for this holiday.
