Hi Ladies,

I've been thinking of purchasing a nice handbag for myself at the end of this summer. This would be my first luxury handbag purchase (I'm usually in the jewelry forums lol). However, since I don't plan on having a huge collection of handbags, I really want to make this purchase count. Something versatile, professional, good for all occasions, classic, and structured. My budget is $3-4k. Any suggestions?

I've been looking at the Givenchy Antigona, YSL Sac Du Jour, and the Chanel WOC (even though I know that it's significantly smaller, but it's Chanel!) I also was looking at the Celine Tote and the Celine Box Bag.

TIA!

Antigona or SDJ! While the Chanel is beautiful as well, it has limited use and seems too small to be really functional unless you don't carry very much at all, IMO. Plus it isn't really a professional work type bag unlike the other 2. For your budget you could get a Chanel GST.

Thanks so much for these suggestions! I didn't even know the GST was within that price range. Do you guys think that the GST or Hermes Garden Party would suit someone in her early 20s? Also, do you guys think that the Celine, SDJ, or Antigona will remain classics or if they're just going to be trends?

Remember to think about bag weight too. I find the SDJ quite heavy empty and can't imagine how much worse it would be with stuff in it.

Of your choices, the GST would hold value the best and wouldn't look bad on someone young, but you also need to think about how prominent a logo you want on your bag. The GST is broken up into compartments which is also something to think about whether you want or not.
