Which handbag for university?

I'd suggest either DvF Ready To Go tote, Longchamp Le Pliage Cuir Medium or Large or Longchamp 3D, depending on your size requirements besides the laptop. The Large LP Cuir is huge, the Medium might not house your laptop perfectly because the bottom is more narrow than the top. LP has a zipper at the top, if you prefer to have your bag closed. The 3D is a bit more structured open top tote and the DvF is a step in the chic direction.

If you want something that's for sure never going to walk past you in the street, you might want to look into Lumi Accessories; their Supermarket Bag XXL in the RAW+ leather is gorgeous, slouchy, light and will take in your laptop, a change of clothing/a pile of books plus your smaller essentials (like wallet, agenda, makeup bag, water bottle and lunch). The Supermarket bags have interchangeable straps; 2 short ones and a long one come with the bag so you can carry it on your shoulder or arm, or as a crossbody or hobo.
I've had my grained leather Supermarket XL for over 2 yrs now and it's held up beautifully, the RAW+ leather is a high tech leather that's lighter in weight and from what I've heard, has a beautiful shimmer to it.

Hi, I'd suggest LV Neverfull in either MM or GM size. I have the GM myself and I go to uni. It fits everything from my 13" laptop to a big scarf, a huge water bottle, some books, lunch and more. If you don't carry around pretty much everything you own like me the MM could be enough too.
The Neverfull is also very care-free bag since the material (at least the monogram canvas) isn't delicate at all so you can practically throw it around as you like. I use it as a carry-on on flights too and stuff it under the seat etc - nothing has ever happened to it.
The GM size should be just under 1000 euros at the moment.

I'd suggest a backpack, too. I love Timbuk2. Their backpack is very comfortable and has great compartments and functions. You're going to walk a lot, hauls stuff from class to class. I think backpack is a more sensible idea. And if you want to be fashionable during lunch or errand times, get a WOC. Or smaller bags to hold your money, keys, cards, and mobile phone. I love Dior, but I don't know the price, but I like how spacious it is. Chanel, Coach, or every designer out there has their own version of this. :) I hope you can find one in your budget. :)

Hi,

Since I'm going to attend university, I'm looking for the perfect bag to carry my 13'' Macbook and some essentials with me. Budget is €1k.
Any suggestions? :smile1:
I'm going to be studying come September too, I've bought a Mulberry large camo Cara and it's just the perfect size and so versatile. Can be worn as a back pack, shoulder bag or carried by hand (it comes with a padlock on the zip for added security, and I bought an extra one too as I like one of the fob as well) :)

I just bought a Bally Wildhorn in the large size. The sales girl said she takes hers to university every day. She showed it to me. It was packed to the nines but looked brand new. It would fit a tablet but I think you'd have trouble getting a lever arch folder in there.

Love it!

Thanks Marisaa :) I picked it up for £980 in the summer sale (down from £1400). The goatskin is absolutely lovely and so buttery, yet I've been told it's actually quite durable, and the bag fits A4 nicely. It also has suede lining which I much prefer to the microfibre stuff that Mulberry seem to be moving over to. I must say it needs a little firming up though if there's not much inside, fortunately my reg Alexa Samorga liner fits in the bottom of the bag nicely and holds her up perfectly :) xx
