Below is a list of different types of handbags with a brief description to help you decide which one is best for you.

Shoulder bag - A handbag that is carried using a long strap which is hung over the shoulder.

Cross body bag - Typically smaller in size, these bags are meant to be worn across the body to allow you be hands-free while on the go.

Tote - Large, double handled bag with an open top and open main compartment.

Shopper - A rectangular bag perfect for shopping

Duffel - A cylindrical canvas bag carried over the shoulder.

Hobo - Shoulder bags that typically feature a slouchy posture, scooped center, and long shoulder strap.

Satchel - A purse that usually has a top closure, top carry handle, and a flat bottom. Satchels may have a triangular side profile.

Bucket bag - Bag that is taller than it is wide with a rounded bottom. Named because they resemble a bucket shape.

Beach - A large handbag, sometimes of canvas, used to carry personal items, as a bathing suit, towel, and suntan lotion, to and from a beach

Bowling - A round, medium to large handbag with a shape that resembles a bowling ball.

Backpack - A slightly larger handbag designed to be worn on the back like a backpack. Backpack Handbags can have one or two shoulder straps and can be carried by both or by just one like a sling bag.

Coin Purse - Sometimes known as a change purses. A coin purse is a small bag designed to hold coins and other small items.

I prefer the shoulder, tote and clutch. How about you?

I prefer satchel, hobo, flap bag (shoulder), and bowling. My favorite shape is a medium small sized satchel. This shape just suits my style and needs. I love to dress lady-like.

I find hobos and mini totes are my favorite.
I love the design form of both bags and they're usually large enough for what I need to carry.

I also like mini bags such as convertible wristlets with enough strap length to hug the shoulder.
I love the idea of small backpacks but never found one I like except for one that Guess came out with overseas not too long ago.

I am not a big fan of long dangling shoulder bags that get in the way when you walk.
I usually don't buy clutches since most are designed to be carried by grip but I do like the Coach baskets if they count.
Satchels and carrys can be alright depending on the design but aren't my first pick.

I use satchels. Sometimes a large clutch.

-I like to use a coin purse if I have a date. A formal type.
-When, going to school, Backpack is the most appropriate to use.
-When going to hang out with friends and going to the mall, I like to use a shoulder bag;)
