I got to go to Tiffany last weekend and try on some pretty new things to get some ideas for upcoming presents. :D It worked out perfectly, because my son had a soccer game only 10 minutes from Tiffany so I had both kids with me (ages 7 and 4) but the SA was so wonderful...she set my kiddos up at her desk with paper and "Tiffany blue" and silver crayons to color with...so my kids went to the showcases for ideas and were drawing pictures of all the pretty jewelry! It turned out to be a wonderful shopping experience!

Anyway...I have some money from some older yellow gold pieces I sold, and I'm thinking that if I combine that with Mother's Day AND Anniversary I can probably have a budget up to about $900. Dh and I are going to NYC in June for our anniversary so I'm excited to go to Tiffany up there and do some shopping for my present!

I tried on a DBTY in platinum and absolutely loved it. I tried on a .25 carat...it was just beautiful but was about $1800 not in the budget this time. When I got home I saw that it came in a .12 for $900...which would be doable but I'm just not sure if the diamond was half the size if it would be quite as "wow".

The other idea I had was adding to a silver 1837 set. Last year dh got me the 1837 hoops for Mother's Day. I tried on this 1837 circle clasp necklace at the store and loved it...

And I could also get a bracelet to go with it. I don't have any cuffs or bangle bracelets at all. I tried this on and loved it too. I think I'd wear it a lot...

So what would you go for?
I'd also love to see any other suggestions you have...I'd rather shop Tiffany online on this cold, rainy afternoon than clean my house!

I personally would go with the DBTY .12 myself. I THINK SKPhoto bought that and returned it but the stone size was really nice IIRC. Obviously it's not a .25 but measurement wise they're not terribly far off.

100%, no doubt in my mind, the DBTY. You will wear this day in and day out, won't need/want to take it off, and you'd be surprised how large it looks for a .12. It's great for layering, so it will look great with most anything else!

Dbty! I'm craving one for myself as well!

I've never looked at Tiffany's for a dbty but do they come in white gold? That would help you retain the size and style?

Nope...thats why I went with Bluenile(I don't like platinum and DH apparently HATES YG) but Brian Gavin has the exact same design as Tiffany's..in white gold.

I am personally in love with DBTY so I guess I am prejudiced and would definitely go with the DBTY, a better value, classic, simply gorgeous and I think they look great even in smaller sizes.
