I don't live near an H store, so I have to order fragrances online.

I am in search of a new favorite but have never tried any Hermes fragrances. With people charging upwards of $5 just for a SAMPLE on ebay, I would rather just order the whole thing than pay for a sample.

So, I am on the hunt for a new fragrance and I need tPF's help. Which one would you recommend?

I usually love fragrances that are clean smelling, a few of my favorites are Burberry Baby Touch ( for babies), Kai (gardenia scented), and Amazing Grace by Philosophy.

Which Hermes fragrance would best fit the category I'm interested in? I have been leaning toward Un Jardin en Mediterranee, but I'm not sure!

Please help!

Oooh, H perfumes are so different that you really need to try one on. Do you live near Sephora? They carry a lot of H perfumes and will bottle samples for you.

As far as a shot in the dark goes, I'd suggest Kelly Caleche (rose and leather) or Un Jardin Apres La Mousson (very fresh beachy scent). I'm sure one of our members has some samples laying around they could send you! I could even go to the Sephora here and get you a couple if nobody has any straight from Hermes.

Aww, thanks, Sarah! I think I might just order la Mousson from H.com and try it out. I was looking around and think that might be a good fit for me.

And no... I don't live near ANYTHING. It stinks.

Un Jardin Apres La Mousson is TDF, i just received a sample with my twilly. Its my first and only sample and i love it so can't send it to you sorry :sad: However i would reccomend it, i'm wearing it now and i just smell so yummy. And like rbb says its fresh and beachy. Reminds me of the Maldives :girlsigh: I'm definately going to get myself some.

Yeah, even my mom smells good in Mousson and she's got the kind of skin that everything turns to rubbish on her (except Chanel No. 5 and Hermessence Poivre Samarcande... and now Mousson!) I ordered a big bottle of the dry oil. I love it because the scent lingers all day! I really think you'd be happy with it. The other Hermes Jardins fragrances smell like bad cheetos on me, so this is the first Jardin I've really worn!

I'm not sure if it's quite what you're looking for, but Eau des Merveilles is my hands-down favorite Hermes scent. Bear with me, I'm terrible at describing fragrance, but I would say it's a light, greeny-citrusy scent with touches of cedar/wood. It's not too girly but it smells fresh and clean, and at the same time I would not say it is masculine or even unisex. Still feminine, but without being floral (not a huge fan of florals) or fruity (too sweet for me). I get complimented on it all the time.

I just tried on the Jardin scents today--my favorite by far is the Mousson; it's the only one that smelled good from the moment I put it on (the others are growing on me but I still don't like them as much). Clean and tropical but not too sweet or cloying, very evocative. I got samples of the other scents which I'll try over the next few days.

Elle Tee: I have actually smelled the Merveilles ( I got it for my 14 year old brother, but he ltold me he prefers to smell like Edge shave gel-- imagine that). I think it's nice, just not for me.

I don't know if you've ordered yet but, if you're still interested in some samples, just pm me, I have quite a few including Mousson, which did not work on me at all. I'll send whatever I have available. :yes:

Thanks CastorNY and Bella... I haven't ordered yet because a lovely member pm'ed me and offered to send me some samples. I'm waiting to get them before I order.

I'm sure I'll find something I like!
