Which necklace should I get as my first VC&A piece?

Looking forward to getting my very first piece! I can’t decide which one to get and need your help :smile:.

Info.:

  • I wear a lot of black and gray.
  • I generally used to prefer white gold since I thought yellow gold didn’t fit my skin tone and I was looking for that black and silver-look vibe, but I’ve been buying and wearing a lot of gold lately after having a change of heart! Now I own a lot more YG than WG.
  • Jewelry I have:
    • Cartier YW JUC bracelet (regular)
    • Cartier YW JUC bracelet (small)
    • Cartier YW Love Bracelet (no diamonds)
    • Cartier YW JUC with diamonds (don't wear often -- only for special occasions)
    • Love ring in YG
    • JUC ring (small) in WG
    • JC ring (small) in YG
    • Ecrou bracelet in WG (don't wear too often)
    • Tiffany Onyx T necklace
    • Cartier YG Love circle necklace
    • Tiffany WG diamond Soleste solitaire (wear regularly)

I tried the Alhambra onyx during Christmas, and I thought it looked great against my skin tone (I’m pale). But I already own the Tiffany onyx necklace from the T line with diamonds in YW. I haven’t tried the Guilloche in person yet. This would be for everyday wear.

In other words, help! ☺️ Thank you!

Hi! To add my thoughts...
I am also not a fan of guilloche.

Looking at your pieces, I think you have a lot of metal and your collection would look fabulous with some color. After all, Alhambra is all about color! Since you like black, grey, and bold yellow gold, of the three, I would choose black onyx.

However, what I would really choose for you if you want to stay with YG is carnelian. The red will pop against your black, grey, and YG. It would be very striking.

I am a white metal fan, so it's only WG (or platinum) for me. If you want to get something in WG, I vote chalcedony. I think chalcedony is beautiful against black... it's stunning.

Agreed with @BigAkoya on alhambra and the colored stones! VCA's carnelian is quite unique from other brands imo (more vibrant and less orange), I'd say if you like the look of onyx, you can also try on carnelian since it's just as hardwearing, you can pick one in a darker shade if you prefer a more muted red. If it's between the 3 options from your poll, I'd say YG guilloche since you own more YG pieces than WG and it's a classic style. WG guilloche looks better as earrings and 5 motif imo.

That's a good point re: the color and how Alhambra is all about color! I actually LOVE the malachite since green is my favorite color, but it's just so delicate that I'm scared to get it. I tend to like to wear jewelry without thinking too much about it.

Love the onyx!

I’m more a fan of the stones in VA - it is just so much more ‘classic’ VCA to me.

The guilloche is beautiful, but has a more modern vibe to it. It also feels a bit more metallic/industrial to me vs the classic stones.

Hi, just wondering what did you decide on? I'm in the same situation atm and leaning towards the onyx alhambra pendant also!
