Thank you for the encouragement to let the 226 go. It is silly to keep it just in case I start to like bigger bags again. I may end up selling my 226 but won’t purchase the 255 with the current prices.
I bought my 225 in 2021 for $5,500 before the price went up. Initially I was going to buy a black caviar Classic M/L but it was sold out. Ended up getting a 225. It is such a great bag. Just the right size for me since I always think 226 is too large for my petite frame.

Realistically? If I’m being honest. And looking at how useful it is?

My classic flap.

It can rest on its laurels of “oh but it was the holy grail Chanel bag” and “well I got it before the prices went crazy!”

But it is my least used bag. And if I held it in my hand and Marie kondoed it, the truth is I’m only keeping it because of the above too thoughts and not because it brings me joy like the others.
I think it depends on what other bags you have to use. Such as say if someone have LV Chanel Hermes then they may not use other non designer bags, or have Kelly birkin then may not use Chanel, I found Chanel medium double flap is a very easy to use bag and looks great, also suitable for all occasions. I don’t use them often though because I have many other bags cost less, so I “save” my medium double flap for more important occasions.

I know what you mean. But I save most of my designer bags for special occasions and the weekend. I have my work bags and my weekend bags and my special occasion bags. And honestly when it comes to weekend bags I’d rather pick my medium boy or my coco handle (love!!!!!) and for the special occasions I do the WOCs and things like that. I did wonder if I just made the wrong choice with silver hardware over gold. Since my coco is the same color as my flap just gold not silver. But there’s almost no opportunity for me to wear the flap unless I make it a point. It’s not like it “goes with” my outfit

Boy is a great crossbody bag, I had medium and new medium, the only downside of boy is the flap is too long, it’s like flip the whole page up, haha, other than that, it’s great looking and practical.

I had both of my medium flaps in silver hardware, I found it’s grand and very easy to use, if I want something eye catching, I wear my limited edition bags. My limited edition bags are not suitable for grocery shopping or travel, such as say, but I can wear medium double flap for groceries shopping, lunch or dinner, meeting with clients, house hunting, wedding and funerals and even travel with. I found it’s a grand all purpose bag, it’s just now price of it is high, I need to be more aware where I’m taking it to and “save” it to keep them look as new as possible when it is not necessary to use them since I have other design bags to use.

Any bag in the old, more yellow, beige Claire. Especially the petite shopper which was under 1K USD when it first came out :)

Not really a fan of my caviar bags or CF (some of which reside in my mom’s closets these days). I prefer lamb or aged calf.

My navy XL boy - it was too big, and it did not maintain its shape, especially caving in the middle along the top spine of the bag. I rehomed it a few years ago.

For the amount of money I spent on it, I should have bought a classic flap instead. I'm sure I would have kept that instead, and it would have maintained its value in comparison.

Sounds like a beautiful bag and how unfortunate that it was structurally unsound, so to speak. I also rehomed a M boy bag. It was a gorgeous slightly pearlized cream-colored caviar leather with matte gold hardware. The lock drove me crazy. After I stopped reaching for it I realized it would be better loved elsewhere. I think I may have put the $$$ towards something from VCA . . . !

Small Deuville in light denim. I get lots of compliments on it. I see lots of women carrying similar, but for me it’s like a shoebox on a chain. Will most likely sell.

Ooh tell me more pls? I was looking into this because I was totally influenced by all these YouTube videos about how it was the best bag ever
I got influenced by all the YouTube videos too. I bought my bag in March 2023 for $5,000 USD plus taxes and I've carried it fewer than five times since. Honestly, I don't love using it for a couple of reasons: I have to keep readjusting the chain strap every time I open it. The bottom material marks super easily. I'm not one to baby my bags, but the second issue alone made me want to sell it. The only reason I haven’t is because the resale value is so low, so I'm just hanging onto it for now. That said, these things might not bother you at all, and you could end up loving it way more than I did.

Thanks for sharing! I heard the chain digs in after you wear it a while… the bottom getting scratched would make it hard for me to carry also . Hoping you’re still able to carry it with some joy! I love it as a hand held!

Not particularly a Chanel piece but an item for it. I bought an acrylic base shaper to keep the bottom from bulging and it made a tiny cut in the interior corner. Chanel told me they don’t repair the inside, leather liner. It’s been 6 years since the tear was discovered and it still stings. Now I have an acrylic base that is now a glorified straight edge. Lesson learned.
