Which bag would you choose?

Hi! So i’m thinking to get either one of these bags. Although they’re quite a different bag, both serve the same purpose to me: a big tote for when I need to bring bigger things like books and ipad.
I love both. I think the two can be considered classic. Which one do you think will stand the test of time better?

Balenciaga, if you want it to last long. Goyard's canvas isn's as great quality as the price would/should suggest.
Real leather is better plus I think the Bal you posted is gorgeous!

(although I am biased since I have at least 10 Balenciagas and no Goyards)

Bal, hands down.

Not that the Goyard tote is a bad choice. But it's very casual and it's canvas, not leather. The City bag is a classic and can totally be worn with a casual outfit but would look good with a more formal one too - unlike the Goyard tote, in my opinion.

Balenciaga City, I think the one you’re showing is a gorgeous colour and with great detail of the metal edge hardware.

The Balenciaga no question. I've seen other people's Goyard totes look very rough after minimal wear. The canvas is definitely not as robust as LV's for everyday use. Plus, the city is a classic.

I have a Bal metallic edge mini-City. The chevre leather is excellent! My co-worker has that Goyard and says she has to really baby it.

Goyard!!! It’s the most chic tote out there in my opinion. If you can get the Black and Tan Anjou even better. Goyard is more classic as a brand. I’m only in my early forties but I can see myself wearing my goyard totes when I’m 90+.

To me they don't serve the same purpose, the Bal City won't hold nearly as much. So it depends on just how much you'll need to carry.
