Which bag should be my first designer purchase?

Hi all,

good afternoon :) im currently 22 and started my first full-time job around 9 months ago. I've been saving up and wanted to treat myself to a designer bag. im currently stuck between two:

*Chloe mini marcie
*Damier Ebene neverfull MM (Louis vuitton)

I was interested in the gucci disco soho but then after seeing it in person i wasn't very "wowed".

Which of these two bags would you vote for? I know they are both different in size and use but i like them both and want something i can use for many years to come.

My first designer bag was the DE neverfull mm and I have no regrets :) it’s a very versatile bag that you can use for work, shopping or even for evening wear if you just take the clutch. My favorite use for the bag is for travel as you can fit a lot of stuff and the pouch is great for keeping your passport and documents. I hope that helps!

The LV gets my vote. It is more of a classic investment bag. Chloe styles come and go but LV never full is here to stay. Don’t get me wrong I love Chloe but for your first I would do the LV.

Sounding like a broken record, but Vuitton Neverfull is my vote too. It was my second designer bag purchase (first was a Chanel XL GST that I bought for similar reasons as you, and I found I was babying it too much so the Neverfull was my next, less intimidating purchase) and now, 5 years later, I find I use my Neverfull more than that GST or many of the bags I've gotten since then! You can beat it up, travel with it (I've shoved it under many a plane seat and no scratches in sight!), super versatile and classic design. And don't worry about the vachetta darkening over time - I think it makes the DE pattern look even better. While the Marcie is super cute, I feel like saddle bags are a trend while the Neverfull will stay in fashion forever.

As someone super close to your age that has that exact Neverfull, I would highly recommend it! I have three higher end bags and the Neverfull gets by far the most use and shows the least wear. It's a classic and definitely you'll use for years to come!

LV Neverfull. I have both DE NF MM and a Chloe Marcie in cashmere gray. I have not used the Marcie much at all. I should probably just sell it already. The NF gets used all of the time, it’s a very versatile bag.
