Which bag Coach city or gallery tote?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking at getting a new tote bag for work. I’ve been drawn to the coach monogram canvas totes as I really like the pattern.

I’ve ordered the city and gallery totes from the outlet and currently waiting for them to arrive! It seems like the gallery is more structured and I like the zip top for security. The city seems slightly bigger?

I’m only planning on keeping one so my question is which one is better out of the two? Thank you 🙂

I would say pick whichever one works best for you! I have several City Totes and use the tote insert with them to organize my work accessories and keep them secure since there isn't a zip top.

The insert has a zipper compartment, a snap tab pocket for a smaller laptop or tablet, pockets and elastic pockets for water bottles or umbrellas.

That said, I haven't triedbthe gallery tote. I had coworkers that have and love them. I think you can't go wrong either way.

I do really like the look of the city tote the only thing that puts me off is I’ve seen some reviews with a lot of wear on the corners.

Has this happened to any of yours and if so how long did it take for wear to occur?

The coated canvas material is going to wear especially since its folded into a point. Eventually any rubbing against walls, desks, furniture, people, car seats will take their toll. That said, of all my City Totes, only my oldest one from 2016 shows corner wear. The others aren't showing any yet so I'd say with regular use anywhere between 5-7 years.

I have both (although quite a few city totes versus two of the gallery) and I like them both. I tend to use my city totes more and have not seen any corner wear on any of them as of yet. I say go for whichever one 'fits' you better and you feel more comfortable with. Whichever one you choose will be a winner regardless. Best of luck!
