I’m patiently waiting for a sweet Alhambra hammered RG 6 motifs bracelet and would like to get a necklace. Need help deciding between the sweet Alhambra hammered RG single motif (would match the bracelet but not a requirement), GMOP vintage Alhambra or hammered RG vintage Alhambra?

I’m petite so I think the sweet would work even with it being on the daintier side. Love the GMOP but a bit concerned about wear and tear and having to baby it…but it’s so pretty. The hammered pieces being worry free is a plus, would the sweet size be better for everyday wear versus the vintage?

I have the sweet alhambra hammered RG necklace and have been wearing it 24/7 since I got it last December. I was also originally deciding between the sweet and vintage size and ended up purchasing the sweet. It is perfect for everyday wear be it casual or formal. I like how dainty and elegant it is. Although it is small, it gives a subtle luxurious look with just the right amount of sparkle. I also like that it is very carefree. I wear mine to the shower everyday and the necklace is still sparkly since the day I bought it. I highly recommend you getting the sweet alhambra hammered RG necklace so that you can match it with the 6 motif sweet alhambra hammered RG bracelet. Paired together it does not look too forced or matchy-matchy since the motifs are tiny. Good luck deciding on your new necklace.

It’s preference but even being petite, I would go with the vintage size. I think for an everyday necklace your eyes adjust to whatever you are wearing and once you wear the vintage size it won’t feel too big at all. I wear a vintage size 10 motif in hammered yg and love it. I think vintage just has more presence than the sweet.

I also would go for the hammered gold since it’s maintenance free. It’s actually my most worn VCA necklace (in the 10 motif), while all my others have stones.

Thanks for your input! Do you layer it or wear it alone?

I've been wearing my sweet Alhambra rose gold hammered necklace since September 2022 and it's held up beautifully. I'm also petite, so I find it extremely versatile, subtle yet noticeable, and it gets LOTS of comments.

Is the sweet hammered necklace hard to find?
Yes. Unfortunately, all hammered gold alhambra pieces are limited in stock at the moment and very hard to get. On the US website, the only option is ‘Order By Phone’ but even that does not guarantee the availability of the piece for purchase. You can try calling VCA customer service to be put on a waitlist or contact your SA to see if you can order one. Another option would be to constantly check on the website to see if it is in stock (‘Add to Bag’) and immediately purchase it. This does happen sometime. I actually purchased my YG Guilloche necklace using that way without having to get on the waitlist. Best of luck.

Thank you! Wow, you got lucky with the guilloché necklace. I’d love to get the hammered necklace and the sweet hammered earrings too. Do you know if when you place an order with an SA and pay the full deposit, are you ordering and paying for the piece to be made? Or are you just prepaying to reserve the piece and waiting for them to receive stock in store and when they get stock, the piece goes to you since you have “ordered” and already paid for it?

I believe it is the latter one as previously explained by my SA. Once your VCA store receives stock, they will notify you and allocate the piece to you.

Nice! Did it take a while for you to get one? Seems like these hammered pieces are hard to come by these days.
The sweet 6-motif bracelet was the first piece I got at the end of 2021 - and I happened to be lucky that when I was inquiring about it on the VCA phone line, the S.A. saw that a piece was coming to Harrods - so I could get my Harrods S.A. to put it aside for me.

With the vintage pendant, I got that in 2022 by pre-ordering it with a 10% deposit and it arrived after 10 weeks.

But now you can’t even pre-order any of these pieces apparently. I’m not sure why.
