Where to Learn About Watches

Hello! I am looking to surprise my dh with a new watch soon as he lost his in our house fire. I don't know a lot about watches so I was hoping that someone here could point me to a forum where I could learn more before buying (like a tPF but for watches). TIA

There are other sites, especially for vintage watches.
