Hi all! I just came back from Paris and saw so many amazing vintage rolexes!! I'm completely in LOVE now!! Can anyone tell me a reputable online site where I can find them for a good price (under 10k).

I'm looking for a gold ladies presidential or day date with diamond markers and a mother of pearl face...

And if any of you have any pics of your ladies rolex, I'd love to see, thanks!

Hey Kbella.

I have a Vintage 1978 Rolex datejust w/ ss and 18kt gold w/ pink gold face. It's actually quite rare.

If you have a trusted jeweller you trust, then my advice would be to go there. Finding online sites is ok, but from what my jeweller told me, crazy things go on in the "Rolex world" For example, you might think you're getting a deal on a genuine vintage piece bc outside it looks and IS 100% genuine. Where it becomes tricky is determining what's inside. He's seen Rolexes that are amazing on the surface, but beneath it all, parts have been changed (non-authentic or have experienced severe water damage etc...the list goes on)

SO bottom line, it's finding a source you trust. My jeweller communicates with watch collectors (he's one himself) via a group-network, and because they're a relatively small circle, he does most of his dealings with them- buy, sell, trade etc. But even then, he's had a few surprises.

There are a few pictures of different rolex in this thread:

In terms of vintage rolex, one of our family friends collects them and he normally purchases them from estate auctions or from reputable dealers that he knows personally. For example, someone will sell the watch to the dealer and they will call him to see if he is interested. But just as Contessa said you really have to know what you are buying so you pay a fair price.

Well-said Whoops.

My jeweller has been looking for another Rolex for me for the past 4 months now. He had one that was AMAZING (& very expensive), but it was not meant to be as it had "issues"

It's not an easy process

thanks for your responses ladies! I want a rolex so bad now, they are so chic and timeless and I think it will go great with my love bracelet. I think when I'm ready I will just take another trip to Paris and purchase there, hopefully the dollar will be stronger by then :girlsigh:
