I just bought a purse and the whole thing looks authentic except the leather tag on the inside says made in usa.... I know some clothes are made in the usa but are hte purses made in usa as well or is this a fake?

Asked my local SA the other day ... ever since 2007 - 2008 lots of authentic Burberry items are being made in China or Hong Kong. I was picking up a shirt for my boyfriend and he was able to find ONE that was made in London, but unfortunately (and strangely) it didn't look as good as the one made in Hong Kong so I opted for the latter.

I recently bought a Black Westbury quilted jacket and it's Made in England. However, the red color jacket i tried in store (same style) was Made in Turkey. So I guess, even the same style differ depending on color.

My leather burberry satchel I bought from Nordstrom years ago is made in Italy. I went back a couple of months ago and bought a small shimmer check bag with some cool hardware on it. That was made in China. I found the quality hasn't diminished so I wasn't too bummed about the purchase, but nowadays I developed a habit of checking the make before purchasing.

Both from Italy~ my wallet and purse, both of my peices were prior to 2007. My real question is this, how do we know that now they don't outsource their RAW materials from China and just bring it back to Italy to stamp MADE IN ITALY in the newer pieces? China must be getting their AAAAA+++ replica materials from somewhere, right? Just like with other brand names? *cough*LV*cough*

My burberry messenger bag was apparently made in Italy and the hardware was added in Turkey. I bought it on Burberry.com because it said "made in Italy" on the website but it says "made in Turkey" on the inside of the bag.. I wasn't really concerned though cause I bought it directly from Burberry.com.

I noticed that the mens suits I am suddenly seeing in Off Saks - purportedly sent there from from a regular Saks - and Neiman Marcus Last Chance are all made in the USA. I wonder if they have been made just for the outlet market? Their price tags looked different than any in a Saks store. Just a tag sewn onto a cuff, no hanging tags.

I didn't check the tags when in Saks in NYC to see where those suits and trenches were made. Nor did I check when in Burberry's not long ago. I will next time.

I've been seeing quite a few Ladies Burberry trenches in varying styles - no classic trenches, show up at Off Saks and am wondering about them too. I will start looking at where they were made, because now I am curious.
