I’m finally going to buy myself a Marmont bag (not sure which size yet) and a matching belt tomorrow! Being downton Toronto gives me a few options on where to shop. Do you prefer Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue or Gucci stand-alone for shopping? This is my first experience shopping with Gucci and would love the best possible experience.

Gucci gives you the box and the whole packaging. I got a belt at Neiman and they didn’t give a box, but my Gucci store did.

On the flip side, the dept. stores have much better return policies!

that’s disappointing! the LV in Saks packaged the same as the standalone store, I was hoping it would be the same for Gucci. Saks is the closest being in my office building :P

any particular reason?

More choice (I live near 2 flagship stores) products that are not in dept stores, SAs can order in for you if they don't have it, better connection with aftercare, get invited to events, I can pay over the phone and get whatever sent for free (anywhere) do custom orders etc.

The way that Gucci works is that if you buy from a dept store you have to return it to there, but if I buy from Gucci I can return it to anywhere in Europe.

I ended up buying at Nordstrom as they have a Gucci Boutique in store. The SA advised I could return to any Gucci location internationally! Although I inspected my bag and belt thoroughly. I decided to get the super mini and a belt and am so happy!

NYC Fifth Ave for me... there's absolutely nothing like it... it feels like I am shopping comfortably at home... a really nice home. Balla and Vincent are my 'Go-To' guys that really show me lots of love.

I did buy mine from Neiman since flagship did not have any. They did not give me the box so i contacted and ask for that. They sent me the box and ribbons shipped to me free of charge.

Nordstroms and/or Bloomingdales, both of whom have wonderful customer service. Saks is absolutely horrid and you truly never know what you are going to get when you open the box. I have found that shopping at the boutique within the department store is wonderful. With all my purchases I have received my items beautifully packaged inside a Gucci box adorned with a ribbon in a lovely Gucci bag. However, be aware that Gucci dictates and still only has a 14-day return policy. Good luck.
