All,

I have been looking to get a Birkin for my wife.... Actually more like she has been asking for it for so long. Where can I get one, one that is like a starter Birkin for her.

Thanks.

Hmmm....I am not sure there is any such thing as a "starter" Birkin. They are all expensive. Your best bet, i believe would be to either buy one (or be put on the waitlist) at an Hermes store, or go via Ebay or Bonanzle (just make sure to have it authenticated here before purchasing)!!!

^Agreed. Also, what an awesome husband you are! IMO, you should buy directly through Hermes. For me, a Birkin is WAY too risky to try and buy through eBay. Good luck!

Try one of the reputable consignment shops. The best prices on them I've seen have been through Ann's Fabulous Finds. And she gets them pretty regularly. You're still looking at $5k+, though.

Hi,
You should check out the Hermes forum for information, including a list of recommended resellers. Be sure to have anything authenticated, if you look at a source other than the boutique.

TBH I doubt you would find a Birkin for even $5k. Even a consignment reseller would be looking for around $8k and unless they are reputable you could get severely stung

Best bet is to buy direct from Hermes and know you have the real deal

What is your budget? What does decently priced mean? At H, they are about 8.5k - 9.5k. If you are looking for half price, it does not exist. These hold their values pretty well. You can however find some nice pre-loved ones through the reputable resellers for about a 1k discount. You can get a deeper discount if you can stomach some wear. I think as a gift, best to purchase from H directly. If you don't have the funds now, then best to wait. This way if she does not like it, she can at least return to get a credit. The resellers are not as flexible.

Thank you.... I have heard that it starts from $5K and up... But I definitely don't want to go past $10K. I guess she deserves it from putting up with all my crap... And giving me wondering children.

I bought my first birkin for under $5k but with wears....(she has been spa-ed with good results)
You are such a lovely husband, and try looking in Ebay, you might end up with a birkin and a kelly for under $10k if you are patient with your search.

Good luck!
