with all these price increases, now for a grownup middle age woman, I guess nothing a decent Chanel from store under $4,000 (unless a WOC), nothing a decent Chanel from secondhand under $2,500 (even vintage bags are over $1,500 now)
First question what's your budget?
Second question what type of bag?
Third question what type of material?
Leather, suede, nylon, tweed...etc. Fourth question any particular designer?

To add on, some more questions I like to ask my friends when they ask me for recommendations, what's the purpose of the bag? Dressy or casual? What do you want it to fit? Color/hardware that will suit your wardrobe?
Other than capucine, I personally think the LV twist is a beautiful bag! And the woc version is quite value for money for the main characteristics of the twist too.

she told me her mom likes medium size bags and bags that retain their value Needless to say, she learned about the holy trinity last nightI agree the twist is gorgeous. I also recommended that as well as a chanel WOC (but I’m not confident we can find one being that the woc is so hard to find

yeah!!! Great question!!! Inquire about her mothers height so we can figure out bag drop. And whether she prefers top handle/shoulder strap. Celine may be an excellent option (very classy, understated).
