Do they always give you a box?

Do you get a bag with the wrapping still on it?

I’m trying to see if my store is out of the ordinary. The first time I bought a dinky, no box, no wrapping - and when I got it home there was a pretty big divot in the back. I just kept it.

Now I just bought one of the sale rogues (with my reissued gift card) and this time, I did get asked if I want a box - I said yes. But still no wrapping on the bag and there is some tacky stuff on the bottom of the bag. This one I’m returning because 1) No. And 2) I think it’s my store doing less than expected.

The only other Coach I bought new was online and that came perfect.

I’ve always gotten my bags with a gift box. I use them for storage. They either put it in the dust bag or wrap it in tissue. Bow on the box as well. I hope that hasn’t changed... it’s been about a year since I bought a bag that was in stock in the store, they had to order my last two bags, so not sure if the policy changed.

I think it depends on the store and if you work closely with a sales associate. I tend to ask my sales associate to give me all of the packaging. I will obviously look at the bag to make sure everything looks okay but I tend to want to keep all of the stuffing for storage purposes and often ask for a box and there's never been an issue. I do think it needs to be a request though; it's not something that they would have done for me if I hadn't asked for it.

I haven't bought a bag at a store in a long time, but I don't recall ever getting a box. I remember having to tell them I wanted to keep the stuffing as they tend to remove it.

If there’s a bag unopened in the back with all the wrapping, my SA will bag that one for me. They won’t gift box anything unless asked, or they know it’s a gift. If it’s a gift they’ll take it out of the plastic bag, but keep the wrapping and stuffing.

When things are gift wrapped, there’s no dustbag for some smaller SLGs, which I find odd.

I sometimes get a box but I have had to ask for it. The SAs at the store I go to know me pretty well so they will always give me a new item in the packaging that it was shipped in if it is available. And usually we just unwrap it there to make sure it is good.

I bought a wallet, Rogue 17, Parker and a Turnlock pouch at the boutiques and all of them came in paper wrapping. In the past, my SAs would spend at least 10 minutes packaging my purchases in the box but not anymore.

I don’t need the box since I don’t have any space in my house for it, and I hate waiting so long for them to wrap it for me. I rather they just tuck it in the dustbag, toss it in a shopping bag and let me be on my way.

My store has tried to sell me dented and smushed bags before. I usually ask for a new one from the back, hopefully still fully wrapped, or I ask to compare several unwrapped bags if that's the only option. I feel like my store tends to have multiple unwrapped, unstuffed, poorly stored bags of the same style and color at any given time, which is a shame...

I usually like to order online when I can, to get "fresh" items.

I concur with everyone else - gift boxes need to be requested, but it's no problem to do that.

It depends on the circumstance. I've automatically gotten boxes when I've gone in and mentioned it was for a special occasion, such as an anniversary gift or birthday, but usually it gets brought from the back, i look it over and then it goes into the dustbag and into the shopping bag. Although most of my more recent bags have all had to be ordered. I don't think I've actually walked out with a purchase in hand for over a year come to think of it....oh, minus the snowflake ornament

They'll usually unwrap a new one from the back and bring it to you. You might not necessarily see the wrapping on it ever. At one store I asked to choose between several bags so they actually brought a few wrapped ones to me, I picked the one I wanted, and then they unwrapped and boxed it in the back.
I always get all my things gift wrapped (like, every store not just Coach) because I love the idea of presents forever.

Any time I have purchased from the retail store, they bring a new one out of the back, unwrapped, and I can look at/inspect it. Then they will put it on its dustbag and into a shopping bag and I’m on my way.

If I want a gift box or gift wrapping, I just ask... they have always been happy to do this. I've found (at Coach or anywhere really) that if you really want something you need to speak up. As for the wrapping, I actually prefer to inspect it in store without the foam/wrapping on it because I’ve received some bags from Jax that were wrapped like a mummy that had damage or were smooshed in the corners... so that alone doesn’t guarantee flawlessness.
