I have been buying LV and Gucci since late high school. I have quite a collection mostly classics hardly used recently I was speaking to my daughter (13) and I mentioned she can share with me, she said why would I want to share I want to make my own collection or for my bday choose my own bag. Now I have feel like everytime I bought something (nano speedy) I had her in mind. Reflecting maybe I would feel the same way if my mom would of gave me her LV if she had any. Maybe it is time to sell and keep a limited collection only for my use?

Absolutely. No guarantee a kid wants to follow your taste or enjoy your bags, in the short term or ever. (Do you do the same with clothing and jewelry?) I never quite get how some consider mass-produced, used luxury goods as definite heirloom material, especially since most LV depreciates over time.

Your post made me think about my collection as well and decided to ask my 9 year old if she would be interested in my bags. She said, "Maybe, but the bags would be older and wouldn't they cost more then?" She's thinking they'll be considered antique and she can sell them for profit 😂 Guess I'm keeping my bags, my daughter got plans 🤣
Smart girl!

That's disappointing that she doesn't want it especially since you had her in mind when buying; I think maybe it's a personality thing because some people love inherited items, while others prefer new that they choose themselves.
Perhaps if you both choose a bag together on a special occasion, it will be a nice memory for both of you.
