Hi all, I’ve been contemplating adding numerous different bracelets to my single YG love. I thought about adding the YG JuC or the VCA Mop. I Showed it to a close friend and she immediately picked out the VCA 5 motif MOP because she felt the JuC wouldn’t look good when I was older, like in my 40s or 50s. Currently in my 30s.

I tried to find pictures of older famous people wearing it and I couldn’t readily find images. Whereas I could find images of older ladies wearing VCA . Do you think one style agrees more with age than the other? Would love to hear your thoughts.

That's a good food for thoughts topic and I'm sure this thread will get good traction. Haha.

I'm reaching 50. I'm rocking a Juc (bought less than a month). I don't even know if the smallest size bracelets (I have 2 loves and 1 love chain bracelet and 1 juc) available for Cartier will pull me through in 10-20years time (in terms of fitting) or if they fit my daughter when I pass down to her.

I trust in living for today. Wear/buy what you fancy now, so long one has the financial ability. We really don't know what tomorrow brings.

and I personally will not add another VCA mop because I dont like to remove jewellery during shower/swim/etc. I mean that's recommended on mop care.

So which do you like if there's no tomorrow?

Great question. I don’t see why the juc wouldn’t work for someone older, I think it comes down to personal style more than age. I know some edgier women of a certain age who could totally rock the juc and I have younger more conservatively dressed friends who I think the vca would be better suited for, despite their ages.
So with that said, I say buy the one that makes you happiest now. Like it was mentioned above, who knows what tomorrow will bring.

both are iconic and timeless in their own way. Buy what you love and what suits you now. As @snibor posted above, who knows what you will like in 20 years; it could be the same or entirely different (I’ve loved my avatar cuff since high school but just got it this year). i agree with @americanroyal89, that the JUC is more edgy. one could also argue that the Alhambra more girly And youthful (my moms opinion). My age 54 wouldn’t prevent me from wearing a JUC today. now if it appealed.

@Purrsey, I love your pic!

Slightly off topic i love the open bangle w diamonds on each end, may i ask where it's from?
Thank you.
I shared here.
I also posted in the jewellery thread asking for ideas to reset my old pieces. I received good advices! Also told the jeweller how big I want the opening to be and it turns out the way I like it :)

Alhambra came out in 1968 and JUC in 1971 (Happy 50th Birthday JUC!). Anyone who bought back when these styles were new is well into (at least) their late 60s now. There are many TPF-ers with amazing style wearing JUC and Alhambra daily at ages 50, 60, 70+. These pieces have stood the test of time and they can look good on wearers of all ages. Jewelry is not so much about one’s age. It‘s more a reflection of one’s personality, sense of style, mood, and on any given day, state of mind.
