What's your LV collection by material breakdown (leather, canvas)?

Been reading old threads and there was a question about how many monogram bags posters have, but I thought it would be interesting to see it broken down also by leather type!

I can start:

Monogram canvas (including the colour subtypes like reverso, graphite, multicolore etc): 7 - 1 Pochette Metis (reverso), 1 2023 Camera Box Bag, 1 vintage Papillon, 1 Surene MM tote (with red leather sides), 1 Zippy long wallet (with red leather interior), 1 Mini Pochette (Christmas Animation), 1 LV belt (reversible red leather). Definitely the best represented in my collection!

Damier canvas (including the colour subtypes like ebene, azur, graphite etc): None

Epi leather: 2 - 1 Petit Malle (silver), 1 Alma BB (lime)

Vernis leather: 2 - 1 Pochette Cles (Amarante), 1 Bellflower PM (red)

Empreinte leather: None

Exotic leathers: None (yet!)

Taurillon Leather: None

Matelasse Leather: None

So, overall, for a collection of 11 pieces (including SLGs and leather goods like belts), my breakdown is: 64% Monogram Canvas, 18% Epi Leather and 18% Vernis Leather.

My overall comments: I have a monogram problem (even the Vernis leather has the LV monogram stamped all over it, if you think about it) :lol: time for me to STOP. BUYING. MONOGRAM. (except for a passport holder maybe and I also want to get at least a carry-on at some point and okay, I need therapy). I like Epi for bright, in your face bags. My LV collection feels relatively complete but I would like to add an exotic, preferably in red (either lizard, python or ostrich - I can't afford croc 🙈) Speaking of, I also seem to ADORE red - 4 of 11 are either red or have red accents. That's over a third!

It is! My favorite one I actually use is my Speedy B Mon Monogram, the one whose design I like best the Cherry Blossom Retro (don‘t use it that much as special piece…), but I like all of course!
From my Damier pieces my favorites are the Trevi PM and the PA!

Which is your favorite from your collection? 😊

You’ve been collecting for a while if you have the cherry blossom!!

Well it’s pretty easy to split by material for me, the only one I have to think about is mono :lol: :

Fav monogram: 2023 camera box bag
Fav Epi: Petit Malle (in silver and black Epi - this is overall my favourite bag in my collection as well!)
Fav Vernis: Bellflower (in red)

If I do a top 3 for my collection in general it would be Petit Malle, followed by camera box bag, followed by Pochette Metis most probably!

The petit malle is such a fabulous piece! I wish they would male a bigger medium one as I have no use for those smaller bags.
Speedy 30 is like minimum size for me for daily use! But I also have a Pochette Metis and it is a great bag if you don‘t need much on the go! Your curated collection sounds like a great variation!
Haha, ya, I have been collecting too long. But I just love bags! I wish, there were more opportunities to take out the more interesting ones!

Oh I’m a small bag fiend! I never carry much out and about unless I’m going to work. My biggest complaint about my Pochette Metis is actually that it’s a bit too big because it’s usually like half empty :lol: I like how we are so different.

Thank you for calling my collection curated when tbh it’s just small :lol: but I like variation. I know if I had multiple similar bags I’d never carry them all. My collection overall (including other brands) tries to have “one bag per niche”. For neutrals like black and brown I have multiple bags in those colours because I can see myself needing for example a black “big bag” for the day, an evening bag to go out with friends, and a super formal black tie black bag (haven’t bought this one yet). But how many yellow or green bags does one need? Just one would suit my purpose so now that I have a pretty lime yellow bag I wouldn’t buy another IYKWIM.

I would create occasions to take out your cool bags! Just take something fun out to lunch or dinner. Who cares if it is “appropriate”. Life’s too short, wear the bag!
