Food What's Your Favorite Hot Alcoholic Beverage?

I wasn't sure either though I have heard of it...here's the web definition...sounds like it's pretty potent as it can be 35% - 60% ABV

Basically, it sounds like it's Italian brandy made from the residue of grapes after they've been pressed...

It's some pretty nasty sh&t. BF makes homemade out of pears. Everyone says it's amazing. I think it tastes like straight out medicine. Supposed to be really fabulous for the stomach. To do what? Make holes?

I actually haven't had it yet... but I'm looking forward to one
it's based on a chocolate whiskey ganache recipe I have

Lol...sounds pretty gross...guess it's probably an acquired taste :shrugs: On the other hand, it's pretty cool your BF makes homemade spirits!

Grappa is a protected name in the EU, it has to be made under specific criteria (grape pomace, no added ingredients), and only in Italy to be named grappa.;)

Your boyfriend probably makes schnapps!

I also like Serbian Slivovitsa (from plums) with honey too. All kinds of distilled drinks that resemble this type of brandy are pretty cool, in moderation of course as they are extremely high in alcohol.
