Workplace What's Your Career?

I graduated as an Industrial Engineer from Ryerson University in Toronto.
I work for an engineering consulting company as an Engineering Project Specialist.
It's been a year since I graduated and even though it took a while to find this job I absolutely love everything about it including my boss and coworkers.

I started uni doing a bit of Management, Economics and Media & Communications because, as you can probably tell, I had NO idea what I wanted to do. Luckily I was doing a BA since, as soon as I figured out that I LOVE International Relations ands Political Science, I was able to use my other classes as electives and didn't loose any time.

I graduated this year and started my masters in Peace and Conflict Resolution but took a semester off as I am currently doing an internship with the United Nations in New York in Peacekeeping-my absolute dream come true! When I'm done I'm going back to Australia to finish my masters and be with my fiancé and then I'll have to see what we'll do.

I am currently considering heading in the direction of political journalism as that would make my relationship easier since the next career step for me would otherwise have to be going into the field in with a peacekeeping mission as a UN volunteer for 1-2 years... So that is where I am currently at: Trying to make both my career and relationship work well together.

I would strongly recommend for you to do a BA in case you are not sure about what you want to do as you don't loose any time checking out various fields of interest. And as soon as you find what you love I am certain that you will excel in it! All the best!
