I would love to add a lighter color either birkin or kelly. Any recommendations for something slightly lower maintainence or which leathers to definitely avoid? I don't want to have to baby it every waking second but I take decent care of my things.

New convert to epsom. Light weight. a Perrier water bottle leaked an inch of water into my 25B sellier and i didn’t notice bc it was water tight. When I got home, I called my SA, then dried it off and left it over a wine bottle to air out. It’s perfectly fine.

I believe @Tyke recommended nata swift for her K25. she wrote that she was able to clean even her toddlers creamed spinach off of her bag. See below, her post 11

ive also had great luck with my gold swift B30, but others on TPF have not, IDKW.

Clemence can go through a hurricane, but it’s heavy.
Todays Togo is heavy and can look dry. . .

im fine with barenia (I do nothing to it and it’s great)
and I have @docride treat my box leather (if it gets wet, I wipe it dry)
no change in the texture, but it gives me peace of mind, and I’ve never had any blistering on box.
JMO and YMMV

Yeah Nata swift is smooth and easy to clean though I think it is high maintenance compared to Togo and clemence. I don’t know if it is because of the leather or the color but this bag gets dirty really really easily. I guess when I get my so in chèvre and Nata, I will be able to say if the fault is the leather or the color.

If I had a choice to make another SO I think I would ask for a b25 in rose Sakura in clemence. I have a picotin rose Sakura in clemence and I am able to use it as an everyday bag with minimal maintenance

I would say (of the more commonly seen leathers) #1 Clemence, #2 Togo #3 Swift #4 Chèvre. I have personal experience of massive spills and color transfer on the first two that cleaned up right away (although, not on a color lighter than Gold - but we are talking coffee spills and denim transfer, so, pretty dark). Small spills on Swift were also fine. I have an Epsom passport cover with a stain that cannot be removed (I don't know what it is), so, not a fan. Chèvre has been fine for me so far but I've also not had a big spill.

This weekend, I was about to place an order for a light-colored bag in Chèvre and got into a big chat with the leather manager. He said Nata, Craie, Beton, Gris Perle are all very high-maintenance in his opinion (in any leathers); once you get up to Gris T, not so much. He also told me a bunch of horror stories about red wine and spinach on Barenia - we all know Barenia is fine with water, but not so much with acidic or oily things.

I think the net net is that the color, not the leather, is the biggest issue. After that it's more about what your prime worry is: for me it's color transfer because I wear jeans, and overall dirt because I live in cities. If I had kids bigger than infants, I'd think more about flying spinach and PBJ smears :p
