What's a Blowout?

Hey, ladies. First time poster in the Beauty Bar.

I got a gift certificate for a free blowout. It's non-transferrable, so I don't want to waste it. However, I don't know if a blowout would be something I could use. I'm very clueless about this issue, but I heard blowouts were good just for making frizzy or curly hair straight, and I already have very straight hair. Needless to say, I've never gotten one. Am I right, or could a blowout do something other than what I think it can do?

Sounds like they just blow dry your hair.

It sound like a wash and blow out. Just like when you get your hair cut, but without the cut. They probably wah your hair and blow it out dry/style it.

Meaning they blow dry with a brush (usually round brush). It minimizes frizzes and straighten your hair but gives it better body than using flat iron. I love getting blow out at the salon. I can't never do it right at home.

I get them done regularly, it's totally worth it. in my culture many women visit the salon 2-3 times a week for a blow out. a good blow out should last you a minimun of 2-3 days if you don't get it wet.

it's just a blow dry of your hair with as much or as little styling as you want (meaning more volume, less volume, super straight or curled ends or whatever).

get it done when you have a party or other reason to look nice, you'll feel like a walking vidal sassoon commercial.

I wouldn't get them often. They can be a bit damaging to hair. I get one once a year and only for a special occasion.

just a wash then blow. they usually style your hair. i get them once a week at the drybar. its amazing!!

yea, it's just a nice blow dry since they can do it better most of the times. i say save it for a special occasion or a nice date night or something
