What would you pay for this ring?

You have no idea what the quality is, and neither do we.

I wouldn't pay a cent for it, but that's because I don't prefer to buy secondhand without every possible report and total control over the situation. If that stone is not sold with a legit AGS or GIA cert, and with a return policy to allow an appraiser to confirm it matches the report from either lab, no.

If you guys are on a budget, we can help you find something that works with it from a reputable online vendor. It might not be as flashy as this stuff but you can reset the stone in a year or so into a flashier setting.

:yes:There's the answer.

The ring is beautiful but I personally wouldn't want to buy something like that off Craigslist. She could have bought it and it could all be legitimate but you also have to think that maybe she bought it second-hand as well to resale or there could be other things just not right about her transaction. I agree with what Ame had said as well.

Well what if I took it to Jared and had them verify all was legit and inspect it

Still no. And I would offer nothing, and walk away.

Jared is not my idea of reputable, esp not for diamond sales, nor are they an independent appraiser who will tell you what you really bought, they're a maul chain. And if you take it, it's yours and she's gone from your life, and if she sold you something junk, or worse, fake, you're stuck with that and your money is gone. Then what? You are stuck with a fake or low quality ring and your money is gone and you have zero recourse.

What is your total budget and we can help you find the best diamond for your money in a simple setting. In a year you can reset it into something flashier. Don't waste your money on something that isn't confirmed quality. You can get a nice diamond from a legit online vendor, and we can help you do so. I think you're getting caught up in the perception of a "great deal" from these craigslist and ebay listings. Some might be legit, but mostly they're probably not, and probably using stolen photos of someone else's stuff to lure you in.

Well to be honest I had a ring back last year in October I paid close to $3,000 for it I was in a bind had to sell it. I got $800 for it. I was devastated. I don't like boring plain rings I like the invisible setting quad look.
Here is my old ring I miss t dearly and I also had the lifetime warranty on it they were really good about it. I lost a stone and they replaced it no questions asked.

Well you're never gonna get anywhere near what you paid when you have to resell unless the ring is of special provenance (owned by a celeb, of a special size/quality from a place like HW or Graff, etc). So you actually did pretty well, as disappointed as you are by that number.

If you want the quad look that's what you should get, but we're not going to be able to give you a lot of help as most companies that make them do not use the best quality materials to make them and they don't retain much value.

Ok thanks so much for your help. I appreciate it. :)
