What would you do? Tiffany or bust?

Hi all

I just wanted to know your opinion on this. I have my heart set on a Tiffany Legacy, 1ct centre stone ring, this will cost around £11,000 (UK prices) however, would you buy this ring, knowing that part of the cost is the name - or would you find something else similar from another jeweller and possibly get a larger stone?

I had a bad experience in Dubai buying a diamond ring, which all the stones tipped in the settings, and I had a nightmare getting money back ending up being out of pocket...so I'm wary of getting a ring from anyone other than a 'name'...

This is the one instance where I think there's nothing remotely close that can be made. What makes the Legacy so special and not easily duplicated is the main stone. That's a specific and special cut exclusive to Tiffany and that setting. I can give or take the setting, but the stone is the showpiece. So if that is what you truly want then that is worth the price.

You can have the setting recreated just fine, with a cushion in place of the Legacy cut. So if the center stone not being the cushion step cut hybrid isn't important, and having a great cushion is ok with you, Id get one made elsewhere with a bigger center!
