What will washed nappa leather look like with age?

  1. Hi all,
I bought the black washed nappa "Fleet" bag recently and have been concerned over some of the comments in various posts about what can happen to bags in this leather. Does anyone have an older bag in this leather and what does it look like now?
I've waterproofed with Collonil per care card. Is there anything else I can do to stop this bag from looking forlorn with wear?
  2. I would say just take good care of it, not a bag for slinging on the floor etc..

Just remember its a very soft leather, I have one in antiqued which is also very soft leather, I tend not to use it everyday and keep it in its bag when not in use.
  3. This is one you have to treat with care. It is a fragile leather and does mark or scag easily. Going for black was sensible as the lighter ones show every mark! Protect it as much as poss and, as Tara says, don't sling it around. I'd also be careful with any jackets/coats with buttons or fastenings that you could catch the leather on.
