I bought some classic beige/ tan chanel spectator pumps a while back, but I have no clue what to wear them with. Can they be dressed up? (I am going to a Sunday afternoon opera) They are pretty chunky heels w/ a round toe and ankle strap.

Probably with some longish skirt (if you can pull off the Windsor length – this is just where the calf muscle ends, look up some pictures of the Queen). I wear chunky heel to formal events too but I stick to peau de soie (fabric shoes). If you are stickler to the proper etiquette the two tone shoes are strictly casual wear (that is what my very proper grandmother beats in my head every time she sees me parading my cap toe Marc Jacobs).
