What to do with unwanted Jewelries, Pearls, etc? (need suggestions)

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to get an idea of what would you do to old jewelries that you no longer wear?
I have several rings from Tiffanys and recently purchased several pearl earrings and necklaces. I don't think i am able to just keep purchase jewelries and not get rid of any. Does anyone ever get rid of your jewelries?
If you do get rid of them what is the typical methods of selling these babies?

I have friends who have taken their old jewelry to a jewelry designer who melts down the gold or platinum and creates new designs for them
