My mother-in-law gave me this gold set after I got married but I don't really ever wear it. It believe it's 22k. Do you think this is just for special occasions? Any ideas? I think it's really pretty but it seems like yellow gold doesn't go with much anyway. Thanks for looking!

It is very pretty and I love the details! I think if you separated the set and wore just earrings or the necklace, it would be able to be more casual, esp. w/ casual clothes. It is one I think you could dress up or down.

They are very lovely! I think they could be used in many ways. I would just seperate them & then both the earrings & necklace could even be worn (seperately) with something casual like a white, collared shirt & jeans.

Wow, gorgeous, gorgeous set! I think the pieces could be very versatile, and I actually prefer yellow gold to white gold. It is warmer and has a completely different feel, and it can look amazing on the right skin tones. You could wear the necklace with almost anything, from a casual pair of jeans and a white shirt to a LBD. It would also look fantastic over the top of a turtleneck for winter. I think if you start to experiment with wearing it more often, you might find it is more versatile and beautiful than you think.

They are both gorgeous. I agree with the others that you could wear them separately easily.
I think I would get a lot of use from the earrings. They are totally contemporary! For me, I would have a harder time with the necklace because it is big, but I could totally see it with a button down shirt with the shirt unbuttoned a bit.

I really do like yellow gold a lot. I will try wearing the earrings to dress up a casual look. I don't know if I have the guts to do the necklace w/ a casual outfit. Maybe I can work up the courage!

Statement necklaces are so in style, that you shouldn't even think about needing the courage it wear it. It's a beautiful set, and I agree with the others, wearing the necklace and earrings separately will make each piece stand out!! Enjoy it........it will be an heirloom someday!
