Ok. So a while back I asked for feedback regarding a diamond riviera necklace I fell in love with. Based on the great feedback I got from you guys I did a bit of research and sourced another one that I've asked the SA to keep for me. This is to be my graduation gift and I am so excited. But today I made the mistake of trying on the J12 33m in black. And I fell in love. I've never thought the watch was much to look at until it was on my wrist. Now I am undecided. I figure I'll get more use out of the watch and have something beautiful to look at every day. But the riviera is such a great piece of jewellery to have. The watch is also less money. Any feedback would be appreciated as I feel I'm in a quandary. Please excuse the quality of the photos. Thanks.

VS2-SI1, H-I. The photo doesn't do it justice. I also am a bit unsure about the quartz movement of the 33mm but the 38 is too big. I looked at Cartier BB as but it didn't do anything for me.

Actually, I think posting this has helped me decide. I think I'll get the necklace since I've already set aside the money for it and it will be such an important piece in my wardrobe. My necklaces are either gold or colored gems and the riviera can be paired with studs or other earrings I have to dress up or down.

I'll just delay gratification and make the J12 my Christmas gift to myself. I'd better start saving now. The SA told me it was a very durable watch but she wasn't sure if she'd recommend to wear to the gym as one had to be careful about the watch getting really hard knocks. Has anyone had any bad experiences with theirs?

I think that's the best decision. I was going to vote the necklace. It's gorgeous and the diamonds are clean and white. It's the perfect size to be dressed up or down and the length is nice so It can be layered. If it was mine would wear it everyday and make it a signature piece. :)

Although I am a total watch freak, I would take the necklace! This is such a timeless and iconic piece! You will wear it forever and besides the specs on the diamonds are great. I wish I could afford such a beautiful one. Congrats to you - great choice and great taste!

LOL! You and I have the same taste! I love my J12! Indestructible.....
That being said...if you will wear the tennis necklace as your signature piece, get it. Not many people wear a tennis necklace so it will be unique plus this is the perfect size...not too much. AND you can layer with other necklaces. I don't wear my TN that much anymore but when I do I get a lot of compliments!

Thanks so much. This is really a "torn between two lovers" scenario

I'll go with the necklace but that watch! Oh my! It did something to me.

That has actually been a concern I had - how often would I wear the necklace? I had a bad experience a couple of years ago where someone snatched a couple of gold bracelets off my wrists - on a main street in broad daylight. When I reported it to the police they spoke about how we're often unaware that people are watching us etc. This has left me feeling slightly uncomfortable about wearing my jewelry and whether some stranger may be sizing up my bag etc. That has lessened over time though and now I'm thinking more and more that it's my stuff, I work hard for it and nobody should prevent me from enjoying beautiful things.

Both choices are beautiful so you can't go wrong.
I relate to feeling worried about being a target.
To work so hard to afford beautiful things yet not feel free to enjoy them is sad. I still wear my pieces but I'm careful about my surroundings.
No longer do I wear 4ct diamond earrings for everyday with a Rolex and my ering while carrying a birkin.
I pare things down now.
I might be inclined to go with the riviera necklace but I would personally not wear it for every day.

I have a J12 33mm, it's very reliable and indestructible. I wear it much more than my Rolex and Cartier watches.
Get the necklace 1st and get J12 for Xmas.
