Background info: I’m in US and live 2.5 hours away from the nearest store/boutique.

I was told by my first SA that my wishlist items (a mini reissue and a square pearl crush) can be ordered through phone since he has my card info etc already. But today in the same store, another SA said those two were actually not allowed to order through phone transactions and I have to be present in store in order to make the purchase.

I remember reading people’s posts on other platforms about ordering through phone (or text) for these specific styles, and those were pretty recent posts (summer-early fall). The poster lives in an east coast city and the SA is in California.

So which version applies to current situation in US now? I don’t have a good feeling about this SA I met today, but she did felt more experienced. My SA on the contrary is pretty new but easier to approach for someone like me who hasn’t spent a lot on Chanel fashion items (yet)…

Thanks in advance for your help and input!

The SA I talked to at NM Beverly Hills said I would have to be at the store to buy most of the Classic mini bags which include CCH small size (old mini). I assume it applies to all of the sought after models. I know you can order the 19, 22 through phone.

The policy is they cannot ship classics anymore (cf, reissue, cf/reissue mini’s), but I am sure exception can be made and usually boutique is more strict than department stores. If your advisor say they can ship then go ahead to purchase and if there’s an issue they will let you know.

@Maniwara and @Zixi1000 thanks for your input!

I felt a bit hopeless after she said that since these two SAs work in the same department store.

I’ll text him again today and to confirm that though… if I were to make a purchase I’d buy from him instead of her anyway.

Now I just remember a few weeks ago my SA sent me a photo of a black square pearl crush mini and asked if I’m interested… I didn’t take it because I want a lighter color pearl crush and a black reissue.
That means I can still purchase through phone by him… I guess? :hrmm:

My Neiman Marcus SA in Florida just mailed me the old small 22k beige coco handle and my SA in Austin drove to the private airport where we have an office and hand delivered the 22A gray mini classic flap to my dad to fly home to South Carolina with. My mom and I have a close relationship with our SA in Austin so that is the only reason this was doable. I was not planning on getting either one of these usually highly sought after purses, but they were readily available which to me seems to mean sales are slowing down. If your SA does not make an exception I would not be surprised if Chanel will reverse these rules in the coming year. It is making it impossible for customers who live in states or cities without Chanel or department stores to shop!

@Swanky and @0Mary thanks for your input!

It’d be impossible for people like me to shop if Chanel starts to implement this rule strictly. In some cases shopping through personal shoppers may be the preferred way to acquire items, and I don’t see how this will help Chanel… :hrmm:

Anyway. It’s good to know this is based on individual SA for now. I’m still not sure if I’d get my wishlist items through phone orders, but sounds like there’s still hope!

It definitely feels like sales are slowing down (likely due to a combination of strict policy, purchase limit, price increase, and current economy uncertainty) and they are more inclined to accommodate and make exception for customers with a strong relationship. I am technically already at my 2 classics per year limit, but my advisor still offered me classics and mini’s that I didn’t reserve so it seems like stocks are moving slower…

In the same context, has anyone placed phone orders successfully on the launch days before?
I know items from the latest collection will be in stock slowly, but I wonder how quickly those popular items are gonna get snatched on the first day…

For the newbies out there like me:
Call Chanel customer service and confirm what bags are actually on their “no remote purchase” list!

I called this past weekend and confirmed that pearl crush minis are NOT on their list, so whoever (especially SAs) says no phone order for these minis means they either don’t know what they’re doing or they don’t want to sell you bags…

ALL the reissue 2.55 are on that list, including minis, so those are in-store purchases only.
