Well the plan is we are aiming at a September's wedding.. I do have a e-ring, but it's like 5 years old.. DF want me to have a new ring and a wedding band.. Wedding band are easy.. We are shopping for a wedding ring, but I dont know what size would be good for a wedding that I'm going to wear forever (at least it going to feel like forever)??? However, I know I'm crazy for saying this, but I'm not planning to buy a diamond that is value up to a car yet... I rather buy a house first.... so something less than 10,000 or less... any ideas? any recommendation of jeweler?

Goodoldgold.com is a great site to check out. Amazing stones, and Jon is the greatest.

Id honestly get a solitaire and maybe a 1-1.5ct round. It's classic, itll stand the test of time, and it's a good "forever" size.

My e-ring has a .75 carat OEC center stone and then 4 smaller side stones, 2 on each side. It looks great...but I have to confess that I'm upgrading soon.

DH just gave me the go-ahead!

I'll probably go for a 1-1.5 carat center stone, but the setting will have more diamonds. I'm not really a solitaire kind of girl, although I think they're beautiful!

Since I've been looking at settings, I find I'm always drawn to the same style. So just look around at a bunch of different websites and see what you continually love, and that's what you should get!

Pricescope is a great website with very informative posters on their forum!

Also check the reference thread so you can see how big stones look on someone's hand. Hand shots are much more informative to me than just seeing a close up of the stone.

Good luck and be sure to post the ring once you get it!!!

When my husband I started out he got me a G VVS2 1.06 diamond. Tiffany setting. I just recently upgraded my setting and i am thrilled with it now. With a traditional tiffany styled setting I thought it was a little small for me now. But since I blinged up the new setting I am happy with it. I think you should put some thought into the setting as well. Some side stones really add to the overall look without adding tons more money.

My husband proposed me with VVS1, E 1.10 carat center, round, and 2 little diamond on each side. The wedding band was 6 diamond. I did not like the setting and wedding band, so after 1 year anniversary, I changed the setting to pave, hollow w/ platium setting and I also change the wedding band. I was really happy with the new setting

Two months before our 2nd anniversary, we got bulgerized and my rings got stollen. We replaced temporary ring to center .5 carat and .4 carat on each side.

Next week, it will be our 3rd year anniversary, I will not have new replace by then. I've been waiting for the upgrade of 2.0 to 2.5 carat center. The jelewer will call when the right stone come. I've have narrow down two settings. Hopefully, I have my new e-ring before the Fall.

www.bluenile.com is the good site.

Good luck and let us know what you will be setting
