What size is my vintage Cartier Love Bracelet? Help!

Hi Ladies,

My mom just gave me her vintage yellow gold love bracelet. It is beautiful but I think it might be too big on me. I am trying to figure out what size it is. It is not marked with a size, like the newer ones are. I know the love bracelet is measured by centimeters (ie 17, 18, 19) but are they exactly 17, 18 or 19 cms?

On my mom's bracelet, the inner circumference measures 18cm and the outer measures 19.5cm. Does this mean it's an 18?

My modern model white gold love bracelet size 17 (marked) measures only 16cm on the inner circumference and 17.5cm on the outer, so I am confused.

Any help would be much appreciated.

i imagine the difference in sizing from the outside to inside is due to the fact that the bracelet is solid gold and thick on the sides, so yes, it would be a bit of a difference.
