My sister and I have reconnected again after years of not talking to each other. She's getting married in the fall and I wanted to get her a spectacular gift. I'm leaning towards jewelry because I'm fascinated by jewelry.

She's in her mid 20s and her taste is more classic and simple. She likes dainty things and is very soft spoken, feminine and quite reserve. I wanted to lean towards necklaces and earrings since bracelets and rings might not be her size.

I was thinking of David Yurman since I owned a couple of pieces but DY seems to be more of bold statement pieces. Do you gals know of any exquisitely dainty jewelry that's out there that's one of a kind? I would love your advice.

It can't be too expensive because she would not accept it. probably a few hundreds would do, not thousands...

Hmmmm

Well, the first thing that popped in my head since you want something very unique for her is Pandora jewelry. You can kind of set the price range, and build her a necklace etc, using little charms, some of which are very girly, others are more bold, they have a ton to choose from. It would be a one of a kind piece, that you, made for her. They have a great website.

Haven't been to the actual Tiffany store in a while. I'll check it out this weekend. So many goodies in there!!! I determine how great a gift is (esp. jewelry) if I actually wanted it for myself as well. :graucho:

Have you thought about charm bracelets? I think it might actually work for you. The concept is similar to pandora bracelets but i feel that charms are more symbolic.

I received a charm bracelet as a bridemaid gift once and i think it was the most thoughtful gift ever! It had a heart charm w/ the wedding date engraved on it..and a few other pieces that symbolize our friendship.

Ooooooohhh...I like the charms. Now, I might have to get all secretive and asks her fiancee what she likes, or I can do it, but she's going to question...what's with the grilling?

yay! charm bracelets are wonderful and personal.
maybe you could pick out charms that represent your sisterhood. Like if you guys used to bake together w/ your mom, you could buy some sorta baking related charms...or maybe a memorable vacation you guys took as a family, you could get a country/state related charm.

the possibilities are endless...that's one of the reason why i love charm bracelets so much

I looked through KC designs...very pretty indeed! I will contact them to inquire about prices since it's not available to buy online. Thanks for the recommendation. I love the necklaces and bracelets the SI girls are wearing...when I was perusing through hubbie's magazine.. (yes, he can read that without me flipping out :graucho:...for now).
