To keep your purse off the ground? I will do whatever I have to. There have been times there was no place to hang it in a public restroom, so I have hung it around my neck while I take care of business

(and yes, I moved it to a safe location before I flushed...)

Yes, many times I have managed to hang my bags off the tiny part of the lock in a bathroom stall. Or, if there's a decent gap between the door I'll hang it off the top of the door!

If I have the baby w/ me, i hang it from his stroller. But before if I had my toddlers w/ me, I've had one of them hold my bag w/ the strict instructions not to let it touch the floor. Being future purse-oholics themselves, they were very careful! Lol.

I hate when there aren't any hooks in the stalls! It doesn't happen often, but I usually end up looking for a different bathroom. I never thought to hang it on the TP dispenser, because I figured the dispenser is probably one the filthiest places in the stall. Think about it: people grab TP, wipe, and then reach to grab some more. There are probably all kinds of fecal germs on the thing.

I used to carry a caribiner clip with me to use in stalls with no hooks. Id' put my purse straps in the clip and then hook it on the side of the stall. Not sure why I don't carry it anymore, so I need to go find it. :)

I work in a middle school and I use a baby bag as my teacher bag (perfect IMHO:p). I use the changing pad on the floor of my classroom so my bag doesn't have to touch the disgusting floor. I will try and take a pic tomorrow. Oh, and yes, people think I am crazy, but guess what...you have to be a bit crazy to teach in a middle school:laugh:!

lol too funny! Yeah, we have to get creative when we need to. The most fun is when you have to loop it around your neck. We won't even talk about the creativity involved when you have a wristlet!!! :p

I have to admit that I do sometimes put my bag on the floor, usually either at home or a carpeted floor. But definitely not in any bathroom floor, let alone a public one! I've never tried putting my bag around a toilet paper dispenser. So thanks for that idea!

If there is no hanger, I try to hang the strap on the corner of the bathroom door stall. This would only work if your straps are flat. And I have also had occassions where I need to just hang the bag from my neck. Haha.. I rarely carry satchels but that might be even harder to find a place to hang.

I have never had one of the hooks for the dining table you can use for your purse since I always provide a chair for my purses, but that might work over the door when a hook is not there!:smile1:

Your stories remind me of a situation that I witnessed first hand the other day which goes under the heading of "You Just Can't Make This Stuff Up". I was In the drs waiting room last week when this lovely woman runs through the door with a very urgent look on her face and grabs the key to the Ladies Room. She comes out almost 20 minutes later soaking wet from head to toe practically in tears. I felt so bad that I went over to see if she needed help and in between laughing and crying she shared her terrifying story with me. She was stuck in traffic and her kidneys were bursting so when she ran into the Ladies Room there were no hooks so she put her Open LV Neverfull Purse carefully on the sink and let nature take its course. In mid stream (so to speak) she noticed that the faucet was a goose neck no touch motion sensor faucet and her LV activated the sensor and was rapidly filling up with water as she helplessly watched in horror. Needless to say she grabbed it away as soon as she could but there was about 2 inches of water in there and the contents were soaked. Lesson I want to share be careful where you set your purse down in a public bathroom. Since then I have DH hold it so I know it's safe from harm and possible future mold issues.
