What it cost then and what it cost now...

So I was cleaning up some papers and I came across some really old receipts from 2000 that got me thinking about the cost of our beloved bags and how they've gone up throughout the years!

One of the receipts I found was for my Petit Noe, which in Jan 2000 cost $645 CDN. I looked up the price on the LV website and saw that it is now going for $855 US!!!! Sorry don't have the CDN price for a true comparison, but it's a leap!

I also found the receipt for my Marais which I got in 2001. Then $810 CDN. Now $1,050 US!!!!

What I found even crazier was the price difference from less then 1.5 years ago. I can't believe a Speedy 30 was $625 CDN in 2008 and now goes for $690 US or $715 CDN - I think...unless it went up again!!!

I suppose we should be happy that the price increases aren't like Chanel. But WOWZA!

Definitely makes me a happy I got my Speedy 30, 2 years ago.

A neverfull MM for 595$ That's amazing! The Azur PM I just picked up was 665$!

I bought my Mono Speedy 30 in early 2001 for $320 at the LV boutique in Macys Herald Square NYC.

A couple of months later I added the large Mono pochette to clip on the D ring and I paid $165 retail at the LV Boutique.

Shortly after that I purchased a Mono Cles that was $100 retail at LV.

At the time I thought these were BIG purchases, but I still have and use all of them and they wear like iron. I really got my money's worth!

This week I bought a Monty PM for $800. Talk about LV inflation!

When I bought my Speedy 25 in 2007, it costs SGD950. Now it's SGD1030 ... And it sure is to increase again...

Well costs for everything always goes up, its due to inflation so its not just our bags.

when i bought a petit noe for 600 in 96 or 06'- i cant remember. by 99 or 09' it was 900. i barely used it and sold it 3 years later in excellent condition for 600 so i made all of my $ back. i am very good with purses
