I just clicked on the link xxxx. In the care section it says "The Louis Vuitton monogram canvas is made of vinyl -- a surprise to many."

Well, it surely was a surprise to me.

It also said don't put your monogram canvas bags in the direct sun, and don't be surprised if the canvas fades over the years . . .

Am I the only one who had never read this?

So if I'm understanding this correctly, all our bags are going to fade in time?! What about all those nice bags our mothers had that look so pristine?

And regarding the 2nd quote, is she saying we shouldn't use sprays like AppleGuarde and Shining Monkey on our bags for the 1st year?! :blink:

So it's vinyl...no wonder many ladies here say they wouldn't want to buy a mono. I personally don't like vinyl but I love my speedy...but I think I will like leather better.

Eh, but I really don't care if it's vinyl. I just want it to last, that's all, bottom line!! I don't want to hear about it fading though!!! :worried:

I just like how the canvas is so resilient in inclement weather besides the vachetta.

I don't understand what the big fuss is about. The canvas imo is much less mantience than leather or another other material like that. It is very good quailty and lasts under a lot of conditions leather wouldn't. That's the reasoning why it's made of vinyl.

Me too- but there are good things made out of vinyl right? i.e. some parts of car interiors... umm-- I can't think of anything else actually :sad2:
