Michael Kors What does everyone think of the new "Joan" bag?

Hi Everyone,

I'm more of a reader than a poster, but I do love MK bags.
I saw a picture of the new "Joan" bag in a magazine and fell in love.
I then saw it in person at a store, and it's beautiful- very structured- lots of zippers, and it's a top zip- which is nice for safety.
The "chain strap" is actually detachable on this bag- which is really a nice change.

The only complaint I have is that the chain strap is so long - I know it's meant for using it as a cross-body but I'm fairly petite and it comes down to my thigh almost when worn that way. I figured out that if you double up the chain you can shorten it a little bit.

Any other fans of the Joan out there?

The Joan bag is a nice bag. Have you seen it in black croc? That one makes a statment. I was looking for a red bag and tried the Joan, but I noticed the same thing you did about the long strap being super long! I like to leave the longer straps on my bags, but don't use them and, just my personal opinion, it hands too long to leave it attached.

I'm not sure why they made the strap so long- I know this was made in honor of his mom, Joan- who is a former model I think, Perhaps she is tall and this fits her frame well.

If you are contemplating this bag, you can try the "double loop" method for the chains- It does look a bit different but it shortens the strap quite a bit.

I did end up buying her- I forgot to mention that in my previous post. I bought the luggage shade, but had a hard time choosing. All the colors looked nice. I did see the black croc and the peanut croc- both were beautiful. The croc was a higher price point though for some reason.

Yeah, maybe that's it, his Mom could be tall, so the long strap works for her. I tried the same thing (looping the strap at the side where it connects), and it definitely made the strap shorter.
I'd love to see pictures! I think MK does a perfect Luggage color. It's fantastic!
I was also surprised that the Joan held everything I carry in my N/S Hamilton and I think the Joan appears smaller, but fits the same amount.
