Here's a problem I have had over the years, and I'm sure I'm not alone. You fall in love with a piece of jewelry that's new and different from what you have and you want to buy it BUT! what do you wear it with?

I am a sucker for earrings. You can't bang them up or drop them, and they are a frame for your face, so they are pretty much the first thing you see. I don't own a lot of jewelry but I love what I have, so I like to integrate new pieces into my collection. And I have fallen in love with these earrings, but I cannot figure out what I would wear them with!

They are by Kathleen Dughi, rose gold/amethyst. Against my red hair they are not quite so purple, and they seems to look well enough with my VCA carnelian 10-motif. I also have a rose gold/diamond necklace which it is fine with as well. But do I need to have something else amethyst to go with this, perhaps in a ring or bracelet?

This photo is by my SA for the store's IG account. They are a family-owned group of about 8 or 9 stores across the country, so you can see everything on their website and have anything shipped in from another store, even if you just want to look at it. Actually, I had only put it in my "wish list" and I got an email the next day from my SA saying they were bringing them in because they wanted to see and play with them. We all fell in love with them. [emoji177]

So! Suggestions???

Beautiful earrings. With statement earrings like this, you probably wouldn't need to wear a necklace with them; they can stand on their own. It's a look that's trending now & often seen on the Red Carpet. Like remainsilly has said, these earrings would look good with blues, green, reds, pink along with neutrals like white, black, creams & Ivory.

Statement earrings are on trend, now.
As are off-shoulder style clothes.
Also seeing redheads dressed in red--perfect for these earrings, imo.
Green or blue also good choices, imo. And currently popular.

Hair updo, let these speak for themselves, I think.
By limiting other jewelry.
Hope helps.

Thank you both! Yeah, that's an issue I have...even with statement earrings, I prefer to wear a necklace. I know you're not supposed to, but I feel odd without one. Also I will style my hair up and then I always take it down before I leave. I am still the little girl who wants to play princess and wear everything at once and have the pretty hair!

I really appreciate the color suggestions! I didn't think about some of those. Green would not have occurred to me, but that's really intriguing. I guess I have consider hues and undertones.

Wow, these ideas are great!!!

With these earring being such a statement, a necklace that is understated would be the key....something feminine with a little sparkle but not so much to compete with the earrings. JMO

Beautiful earrings. I remember from another thread you were looking for a necklace to wear with statements earrings (Sutra?) anyway, personally I wouldn't pair these with the VCA carnelian necklace. Do you have the VCA in plain PG?

And of course I know you're not supposed to wear a necklace with them...but I guess you have to know my style, because when I got them I spotted this necklace and put it on with them, and believe it or not it really looks great...

I actually tried on the VCA with the Sutra as well and it does work, that is definitely on the list for the next year or two. I guess both earring would work with this?

The things I remember! I think that choker necklace would look awesome with the amethyst earrings. Do you have the VCA carnelian necklace. I would be interested seeing them together but I trust your lovely judgment!

I'm at a point in my life where I wear whatever the hall I want to wear. I no longer care if it "clashes" or or is inappropriate for my age/gender/height/size or if violates any other arbitrary rule. Wear whatever makes you feel happy/pretty/sexy with it.

You are absolutely right of course!!! Which is what I generally do. This is not so much about "fitting in" as it is about getting suggestions and ideas from people who have great taste and unique perspectives. [emoji5]
